Audition Date: Wednesday May 13 Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm What to prepare: Everyone will arrive at 7pm on the date you sign up for and we will do cold readings from the script. Please bring a headshot and resume to auditions. Headshots and resumes are appreciated, but not required. Feel free to bring a puppet if you like. Though we will have some to play with as well. Performance Dates: June 12-27 Shows will be Thursday-Sunday. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm. Sunday performances will be at 7:00pm. Rehearsals: Begin May 18 Rehearsals will be Sundays-Thursdays. Typically 7pm-10pm, though Sundays are usually 6pm-10pm. This sidesplitting romp takes you behind the scenes as one hilariously dysfunctional cast stumbles through rehearsals, opening night jitters and several escalating disasters. Doors slam, sardines fly and love triangles tangle as this award-winning farce sneaks a hysterical backstage peek at a production that teeters on the precipice of pandemonium and tests the limits of the adage “the show must go on.” In this Blank Canvas production the play-within-the-play, called “Nothing On”, will actually be a play with puppets. This will for sure be like no other version of this play you have EVER seen! Character Breakdown We are seeking all races, ethnicities, body types, gender identities, actors with disabilities, and actors of all ages for roles in this production. * In this production the play-within-the-play, called “Nothing On”, will actually be a play with puppets. Any puppet experience is helpful but not required. Feel free to bring a puppet to auditions. We will have some to play with as well. BROOKE ASHTON:(Female Identifying, any ethnicity. Mid 20s-mid 30s) Inexperienced young actress often caught up in her own thoughts. Constantly losing her contact lenses and consequently her way–but carries on with the play regardless. Unknowingly in a love triangle. She portrays the character “Vicki.” BELINDA BLAIR:(Female Identifying, any ethnicity, 30s – mid 40s) A veteran actress who tends to see the positive and rallies the company into forward motion. Protective of Freddie and prone to gossip though her good cheer generally carries the day. She portrays the character “Flavia Brent.” FREDERICK FELLOWES: (Male Identifying, any ethnicity, 30s – mid 40s) A good-hearted but insecure actor prone to overthinking; the actor who always has a question late in the game. Strong aversion to violence with a penchant for nosebleeds. He portrays the characters “Philip Brent” and “Sheikh.” LLOYD DALLAS: (Male Identifying, any ethnicity, 40s – 50s) The director of the play. Charismatic with the presence and charm to run the room but prone to biting sarcasm and often exasperated with his company. In a love triangle with Brooke and Poppy and forever trying to keep that under wraps. GARRY LEJEUNE:(Male Identifying, any ethnicity, 30s – 40s) Confident in speaking for the company but inarticulate and prone to unfinished sentences. Loves passionately and frequently driven into fits of jealous rage. Must be particularly adept at physical comedy. He portrays the character “Roger Tramplemaine.” TIMOTHY ALLGOOD:(Male Identifying, any ethnicity, mid 20s – 30s) Eager to please, over-worked Stage Manager. Constantly tasked with fixing the many production woes. SELSDON MOWBRAY:(Male Identifying, any ethnicity, 60s-70s) Classical actor who is deeply alcoholic and hides his bottles onstage. Hard of hearing but perhaps using that to his advantage. Pleasant demeaner and quite charming as the burglar despite his bumbling state. He portrays the “Burglar.” DOTTY OTLEY: (Female Identifying, any ethnicity, 50s-60s) Grand Dame of the theater having established herself playing character roles. Often forgets lines, props and entrances but passionate about the play (having literally invested in it). Has a thing for younger men. She portrays the character “Mrs. Clackett.” POPPY NORTON-TAYLOR: (Female identifying, any ethnicity, 18-30s) She is the Assistant Stage Manager and understudy to the female roles. Emotional, skittish and over-sensitive. Beck Center is thrilled to announce auditions for *WORLD CLASS CARE*, a *world premiere* comedy by Cleveland's very own Eric Coble, and directed by Cleveland's very own Eric Schmiedl. *WORLD CLASS CARE *tells the story, set only slightly in the future, where two healthcare behemoths own every parcel of land in the City of Cleveland except Mildred Grisbgy's humble abode.... and *each* are scrambling to convince her to sell. Both a raucous comedy and a cautionary tale, Coble's keen eye for the darkly funny shines through. *Open Call *auditions will be By Appointment on both *Sunday, May 31st *(starting at 5PM) and *Monday, June 1st* (starting at 6PM.) Callbacks are currently slated for Wednesday, June 3rd in the evening. You may obtain your appointment by calling the Beck Patron Services desk at *216-521-2540* during normal business hours. On The Line auditions

Roving Rogue Productions is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming production of On the Line by Joe Roland. This show tells the story of three life long friends who are navigating factory life, union commitments, and past mistakes in the shadow of a looming strike. When: In person auditions will be May 17th from 6pm-8pm at Central presbyterian church in Massillon Ohio (47 2nd street, Massillon Ohio 44646) and video auditions can be submitted to rovingroguecasting(a)gmail.com through Weds May 19th 11pm. What to bring: Please come with either a prepared dramatic monologue, and/or be prepared to do some cold readings. Parts: We are looking for 3 people to portray Part A: The jokester friend who does not take things seriously…on the surface. Coasting through life pay check to pay check with nary a care or a plan. Life is currently good so why worry about the future? Part B: The “mama bear” of the group, looks like the could be the brute but is the gentle caring one. Tries to talk reason into their friend group, and is the first one called when help is needed. Cool headed, and rationale while carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. Part C: Life has been rough for this person, they are still paying for the sins of the past and cannot seem to get ahead no matter what they do. Trying to set a good example for their kid and finally make something of themselves, willing to sacrifice it all to finally win. Rehearsal Schedule: First read through May 26th 6:30pm at Central Presbyterian. Rough rehearsal schedule will be Mon-Thursday 7pm-9:30pm based on cast availability. He is new to the family's intense "house rules," having learned a very different style of play in college. * ROBERT (57, Black male): The patriarch of the Johnson family. Muscular and protective, he is a serious Spades player who values the legacy of the game and strictly enforces the house rules. * ALEXIS (27, Black female): The middle child. A beautiful woman with a "rough edge." She is highly competitive and frequently trades barbs with her siblings. * MICHELLE (56, Black female): The matriarch of the household. She carries herself with regal grace and is the undisputed "boss of the house," often acting as the mediator during family squabbles. * NARRATOR (Any age/gender): A guide for the audience who provides cultural commentary on the rituals of the African American family and the high-stakes nature of the game.
