The prestigious Explorers Club is in crisis: their acting president wants to admit a woman and their bartender is terrible. True, this female candidate is brilliant, beautiful, and has discovered a legendary lost city, but the decision to let in a woman could shake the very foundation of the British Empire, and how do you make such a decision without a decent drink? A pulsating, electric contemporary rock musical, bare follows a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity, and the future. Peter and Jason have fallen in love with each other, but Jason -- a popular athlete -- fears losing his status if he is discovered to be gay. Unpopular Nadia, Jason’s sister, is contemptuous of Ivy, a beautiful girl with a questionable reputation. As the group attempts to put up a production of Romeo and Juliet, tensions flare, self-doubt simmers, and God’s path seems more difficult to find than ever. bare rings with the sounds of youthful repression and revolt. With a unique sung-through pop score, heart-pounding lyrics, and a cast of bright young characters, bare is a provocative, fresh, and utterly honest look at the dangers of baring your soul, and the consequences of continuing to hide. Regional Premiere of "Tomorrow Morning" at Western Reserve Playhouse Closing This Weekend!

Western Reserve Playhouse continues its successful 2018 season by presenting the Regional Premiere of Tomorrow Morning by Laurence Mark Wythe, which will close its run March 23 & 24. Tomorrow Morning is an hilarious and moving show that appeals to different generations: Anyone who has ever been in a relationship, anyone who has had one end when they thought it would last forever and anyone who has ever contemplated sharing their life with someone else. Two couples are separated by a span of time. Jack and Catherine, who are in their late 30s, are getting divorced. John and Kat, who are in their 20s, are getting married. On the eve of their wedding, Kat finds out that she is pregnant. When she informs John, he walks out on her. Catherine and Jack argue about their divorce settlement. Adam, their 10-year-old son, disappears, sending Catherine & Jack into hysterics. The show premiered in London in 2006 at the New End Theatre and was later presented at Victory Gardens Greenhouse Theater in Chicago in 2008. An Australian production of the show opened in Melbourne in September of 2010 at the Treble Clef Jazz Lounge. An Off-Broadway production began a limited run at the York Theatre in New York City in March of 2011, closing a month later. Ian Atwood directs this show, with musical direction by Bryan Bird. The cast stars well-known local actors Michael Snider, Dawn Sniadak-Yamokoski, Madeline Krucek & Tony Heffner. Market St., Akron, OH 44304) For our March reading, Latitudes welcomes two features, hailing from Pittsburgh, Kat Giordano and Jason Baldinger! Kat Giordano is a poet and massive crybaby in Pittsburgh, PA. Her poems have been published by Indigent Press, The Cincinnati Review, Rat’s Ass Review, Up The Staircase Quarterly, and others. They have also been known to show up trembling on people's doorsteps in the middle of the night, too traumatized to explain what they've seen. She is the co-editor of Philosophical Idiot and can usually be found overindulging in her shoddy mental health on Twitter at @giordkat or at katgiordano.com Jason Baldinger is a poet hailing from Pittsburgh. He’s the author of several books the most recent of which, the chaplet, Fumbles Revelations (Grackle and Crow) is available now, and the collection Fragments of a Rainy Season (Six Gallery Press) which is coming this winter.
