Merrily *isdirected by Martin Friedman and under the Musical Direction of by Jordan Cooper. *Merrily We Roll Along, *was first produced in 1981, and is based on a 1934 play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. The musical (with a book by George Furth) was first produced in November of 1981, where it ran for 16 performances. Not very successful eh? It tells of the disintegration of the friendship of successful songwriter Franklin Shepard, his lyricist and best friend Charlie Kringas, and novelist Mary Flynn. The action moves backward through time, from 1976 to 1957. This is one of Stephen Sondheim’s most accessible and difficult scores. It is most certainly about friendship and its importance in the lives of three people. This is one great play. Merrily We Roll Along features sets by Austin Kilpatrick, lights by Adam Ditzel, sound by Eric Simna, choreography by Jennifer Justice and costumes by Ohio Shakespeare designer Kelsey Tomlinson. This production promises a terrific cast featuring Eric Fancher, Neeley Gevaart and Amiee Collier. Concluding his eighteenth season at Lakeland Civic Theatre, director Martin Friedman also continues his examination of the works of Stephen Sondheim. Costumer needed on short notice to provide historical costume pieces (Victorian era) for a Feb. 10th shoot and a Feb. 17th shoot in the Cleveland area. This is an independent production with a tight budget, so we would prefer to be able to be loaned costumes and costume pieces instead of pay for them. Measurements for actors can be supplied upon request. Particular costumes/costume pieces needed: shirts/blouses for extras (approx. 5), a skirt, a policeman uniform, Victorian ladies' boots, Victorian ladies' dresses (working class/casual attire, not elegant ballroom dresses). Her younger daughter, Mary Jo, comes to visit for theday along with her husband, and their two daughters, prompting a familyget-together. Mary Jo is deeply in debt and wants to divide the estate beforeher mother dies. Various members of the family, including the servants, takesides in the debate, and wonder how much, if anything, there actually is toinherit. The family bickers as only a Southern family can, mentioning everyslight and insult that has occurred over the past 80 years. East Cleveland Theater is hosting auditions for “Exit the Body”, by Fred Carmichael. *Director: Christopher Bizub* *Synopsis:* A mystery writer rents a New England house that is the rendezvous point for some jewel thieves. The focal point of the set is the closet which opens into a living room and a library. A body found in the closet promptly disappears only to be succeeded by another. The hunt for the jewels reaches a climax at two A.M. when four couples unknown to each other turn up to search. Not since the days of Mack Sennett has there been such an hilarious series of entrances and exits. *The Roles:* *Crane Hammond**: *Female, 30s to 50s A successful mystery writer, she is bright, gay, witty and an altogether likeable person. *Kate Bixley**: *Female, 30s to 50s Crane Hammond's secretary, she has an irrepressible sense of humor that often borders on the sarcastic, but she doesn't really mean it. *Helen O’Toole**: *Female, 30s to 40s A very efficient real estate saleswoman, perhaps a trifle too folksy and straight-laced, but she means well. *Lillian Seymour**: *Female, 30s to 50s A top-flight fashion designer. *Jenny**: *Female, 20s to 30s Young country girl, rather loud, but the epitome of innocence. *Lyle Rogers**: *Male, 30s to 50s Attractive trophy husband of Lillian Seymour. *Vernon Cookley**: *Male, 30s to 60s A middle-aged New Englander, who has never traveled more than ten miles outside his hometown, emotionless and leery of everyone and everything. *Randolph**: *Male, 20s to 30s An inept small time crook, and proud of it. *Philip Smith**: *Male, 30s to 50s A nice, honest-looking guy with amnesia. *Richard Hammond**: *Male, 30s to 60s Crane's husband, average businessman type. *Audition Dates:* Sunday, February 11, from 7 to 10pm. The prestigious Explorers Club is in crisis: their acting president wants to admit a woman and their bartender is terrible. True, this female candidate is brilliant, beautiful, and has discovered a legendary lost city, but the decision to let in a woman could shake the very foundation of the British Empire, and how do you make such a decision without a decent drink? Grab your safety goggles for some very mad science involving deadly cobras, carnivorous plants, irate Irishmen, and gravity-defying libations. We are looking to cast all Roles, all ethnicities: 1 woman - 20ish to 45ish, and 8 men in a variety of ages, 20’s and up. CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM, IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NORTHEAST OHIO MASTER OF FINE ARTS IN CREATIVE WRITING, PRESENTS THE 2018 NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL, FEBRUARY 8 - 17 Convergence-continuum presents four world-premiere plays by local graduate-student playwrights at the _2018_ _NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL__. _The Festival features two full-length plays and two ten-minute world-premiere plays. These plays are part of a three-year intensive program of study under playwright and Cleveland State University professor Mike Geither, and are co-produced by convergence-continuum and the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) in Creative Writing consortium. This will be the seventh year convergence-continuum has mounted the Festival. FEB 8, 9, 10, THURS-SAT AT 8 PM: _SEXLESS IN SEATTLE,__ _a ten-minute comedy by Jonathan Wlodarski, is a lonely, lovelorn romp in a Seattle apartment. Directed by Clyde Simon. _MURDER AT THE PALACE_ _THEATER__, _a two-act play by Robert M.K. Daniels, a comic, vaudeville murder mystery, is a satiric look at what people will go through for their art, and the cost of being famous. There are two sides to every coin; good and bad, light and dark, art and fame. And sometimes the price of fame can be murder. Directed by David Munnell. FEB 15, 16, 17, THURS-SAT AT 8 PM: _RENDEZVOUS POINT__, _ by Adam Rounick, is a ten-minute play about three professional criminals carrying out an elaborate heist. The only hitch is that two of them don’t know the plan. Through playful back-and-forth banter and tangential diatribes, the clueless crooks race against the clock to salvage the scheme. Directed by Scott Zolkowski. _CONTRADICTIONARY LIES_, by Katie Wallace, is part dark comedy, part docudrama two-act play, and follows failed rocker Jimbo and his estranged wife Kelly as they sort through the remnants of their failed marriage. As nostalgia kicks up old emotions, Jimbo is visited by his guardian angel in the form of his idol, Kurt Cobain. Accompanist for Cinderella at North Ridgevile

Rehearsal and performance accompanist needed for Cinderella in North Ridgeville. This is at North Ridgeville Education Center <https://www.google.com/maps/place/North+Ridgeville+Education+Center/@41.407…> for the HS theater dept. This could be a perfect gig for a college student or post grad. I'll try to keep accompanist time requirements as light as possible. Ask me about pay if the dates work. During February and March Time requirements will be very negotiable. Music rehearsals will be the following dates Feb - 7, 12, 15, 22, 23, 26 - all 4-6pm March - 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26, 29 - all 4-6pm April - 9, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20. Pit shows up on the 16th when we start running the show. I'm pretty sure at this point rehearsals start at 7. April Rehearsals really need an accompanist though a few conflicts are probably workable. April 23, 24, 25 is Tech week. Starts at 8. April 26, 27, 28 show nights. call is 5. April 29 Show call noon. I'm new to North Ridgeville this year and am the music director for this musical. Really looking to make a splash. The Director, Sharon, seems like a lot of fun and there is an abnormally high number of talented musicians, actors, and dancers in this cast. I am very much looking forward to watching this show come together.
