Ease into your weekend with live instrumental music from Mike Tolan, enjoy some coffee, and a mindfulness meditation training with Lune. Stop by the Goodyear Branch Library (60 Goodyear Blvd in Akron) on May 3 at 11 am to browse the stacks, sip free coffee from Bent Tree Coffee, and listen to music by Mike Tolan. Mike Tolan (he/him) is a guitarist who has been active in the northeast Ohio music scene since the early 2000s. He was notably a member of the city of Kent's The Six Parts Seven band and has played and recorded in multiple projects from folk to electronic, often focusing on building small ramshackle sound dioramas. At 11:30 am, join Lune for Mindful Mornings. “Mindful Mornings" is an introductory class to mindfulness and the practice of loving-kindness meditation. Each class will feature guided grounding exercises, relaxation techniques, mindful movement and meditations to help expand our awareness, compassion for ourselves, our community and our world. All are welcome at this class! Each morning will be a little different so if you miss one or two don't feel like you can't return. Just come to the next one that fits in your schedule! Attendees should bring a yoga mat/blanket/something comfortable to sit on (pillow). Chairs will be available to those who need them. Lune (they/them) is completing a two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program and has been practicing for over a decade. This program is free and open to all ages, though Lune’s class is only appropriate for those who can be quiet and still for extended periods of time. No registration required. The most likely cause of this is that they are surpassing their *free* storage / quota limit for their service. Here are the limits for some of the most common services... Gmail - 15GB (includes email, drive, photos, etc.) Yahoo - 1TB Outlook - 15GB Best way to avoid this happening is to keep an eye on your limit and delete email or reduce what is being stored. The play is based on three chapter books in the *Wayside *series by bestselling and Newberry Medal-winning author, Louis Sachar. This production, directed by Calvin Adkins, is audition-based and does not have a registration fee or participation fee. It will rehearse on weeknights and weekends from May 27 – July 17. The show runs on Fridays – Sundays for two weekends, July 18 – 27.
