Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. Dr. Hutton offers free consultations to those interested before committing to the voice studio. host for musical rainbow prep videos As a compelling actor with a passion for music and early childhood education, the Musical Rainbow Prep Video Host will host preparatory videos that engage students and teachers in PNC Grow Up Great pre-k programs as well as families prior to attending a Musical Rainbow concert at Severance Hall. Collaborating with The Cleveland Orchestra's Education Department, the host will demonstrate participatory activities and perform children's songs in the Musical Rainbow Prep Video recordings. The host is expected to study and prepare the script, activities and songs in advance of filming. All instruments, props and materials will be provided. Prep Videos for Spring 2018 include: * 1 Concert Prep Video (introduces concert etiquette and Severance Hall) [1-2 min] * 4 Instrument Prep Videos (engaging, participatory videos that focus on one instrument of the orchestra with curricular learning objectives for students ages PreK-grade 1) [5-6 min] * 8 Song Videos (children's songs like Twinkle Twinkle, BINGO, Old MacDonald) [1-2 min] The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics: * Warm and nurturing disposition * Passion for music and early childhood education * Ability to introduce content in an age-appropriate manner for pre-k students * Vocal performance experience * Willingness to collaborate with Education staff All ethnicities, ages, races, and genders encouraged to apply Time commitment: one 6-8 hour filming day in both January and February; script read-throughs in person or over the phone prior to filming. CORRECTION! Post Thanksgiving Swing Dance with THE MOONSHINE RHYTHM CLUB FROM NASHVILLE Saturday, November 25th

Has your interest in swing dancing been piqued recently? We can teach you the basics and then some the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 25th! Learn how to jitterbug from 8-9 with Valerie Salstrom of Get Hep Swing. No need to have previous dance experience or bring a partner. This lesson is perfect for beginner through advanced dancers. Come to dance, to learn, to listen, to socialize! This event is a party with fun music and dancing! The cost is $12 per person. No discounts for this special event. No need to bring a dance partner as we rotate partners during the lesson. If you would prefer not to rotate, that is fine too. 9-12 The Moonshine Rhythm Club from Nashville hits the stage. Moonshine Rhythm Club brings old-school swing and jazz to life with joyful arrangements and energetic playing that makes this vintage music sound like it was written this morning. The boys seek out deep cuts from the 30s and 40s, take their favorite parts from classic big band recordings, and distill them into their signature sound. That sound draws on the guitar-driven, acoustic fire of gypsy jazz, as well as the slow burn and laid-back groove of later artists like Count Basie and Nat “King” Cole. On top of this lays classy and hip vocals with a lighthearted humor. Most of the band members grew up in the modern jazz scene. They loved the playful energy and improvisation of the music but eventually found it lacking in audience accessibility. They discovered a broad appeal in the trad jazz revival of New York, New Orleans and elsewhere, music filled with catchy melodies and a danceable, swinging groove. Rhythm guitarist Eddie Rutland, in the meantime, was immersed in the Lindy Hop dance scene, honing his rhythmic skills as an award-winning swing dancer and instructor. When he and lead vocalist/guitarist Ryan Leet decided to start a gypsy jazz band, they pulled in veteran bass and tuba player Eric Heveron-Smith, who has appeared with many of the notable bandleaders of the vintage swing renaissance, including Bria Skonberg, Michael Gamble, Jonathan Stout and Solomon Douglas. Heveron-Smith’s mellow vocals provide a perfect complement to the effortless cool of Leet’s voice. The addition of Charles Kay on sax and clarinet and Josh Irwin on electric archtop guitar solidified their American swing roots. Moonshine Rhythm Club has brought its energetic acoustic presence from its hometown scene of Nashville to festivals and dances around the country. They tour heavily, trying to bring vintage music to audiences both initiated and unfamiliar with jazz. Their regular street performances turn the heads and grab the hearts of passers-by. They have also done performances and educational workshops for kids, including a Christmas collaboration with the world-renowned puppeteers at the Nashville Library. Currently, the band is working on a series of EPs paying homage to bandleaders that have inspired them, beginning with Artie Shaw, Django Reinhardt and Count Basie. http://moonshinerhythmclub.com/ No need to make reservations or buy tickets in advance. Seeking Choreographer for Oklahoma! at Hoban HS (Akron) (PAID)

Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, OH is in need of a choreographer for their spring musical, Oklahoma!. Show dates are March 15-18 (you will not necessarily need to be present for performances). Hoping to have the right candidate on board in time for auditions the week of December 4-8, 2017. Rehearsals begin in earnest in January. The ideal candidate would be a strong communicator, have experience with choreography in the style(s) of the show, can tell a story through dance, works well with high school students, can pass a background check, and has availability in the mid-afternoon at least a couple days a week (strong preference for candidates available most Mondays). This is a paid, one-time position. We do 1-2 musicals per school year and no regular choreographer currently, so this job may well open the door to future work for you as well. This play presents certain creative challenges that demand a person of not only a proven ability to collaborate, but also of using their design abilities to the utmost**. The theatre is a classic proscenium arch design which has it's idiosyncrasies; good and bad. * The position also includes a Head Electrician (to be hired by you). There is also a House Tech on premises. *The Play: Lakeland's production will open on February 2, 2018 and close on February 19. * *Merrily We Roll Along, *written in 1981, is based on a 1934 play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. The musical (with a book by George Furth) was first produced in November of 1981, where it ran for 17 performances. Not very successful eh? It tells of the disintegration of the friendship of successful songwriter Franklin Shepard, his lyricist and best friend Charlie Kringas, and novelist Mary Flynn. The action moves backward through time, from 1976 to 1957. This is one of Stephen Sondheim’s most accessible and difficult scores. It is most certainly about friendship and its importance in the lives of three people. This show has great personal meaning to me. And while the book is problematic; I am confident that our production team and the actors that are cast can overcome this.
