Gurney Directed by Chris Bizub *AUDITION DATES* Sunday July, 16th 7:30pm-10pm Tuesday, July 18th 7:30pm-10pm *LOCATION* St. Barnabas Episcopal Church 468 Bradley Road Bay Village, Ohio 44140 Auditions will consist of readings from the script. *CALLBACKS* Wednesday, July 19th 7:30pm-10pm *SHOW DATES* September 22, 23, 29, 30 at 8pm and October 1 at 3pm *SYNOPSIS* The play is set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is comprised of a mosaic of interrelated scenes—some funny, some touching, some rueful—which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species: the upper-middle-class WASP. The actors change roles, personalities and ages with virtuoso skill as they portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. This July and August we are shooting a very low budget film. We are looking for a few more people to fill small roles for credit only. If you recently submitted to my previous posting, we are still considering you and you should hear back by Sunday. MARK Male, Age 18-22. Deceased boyfriend to the main character. Only seen in old photographs. For this role we just need an actor that will be available for an hour before July 15th to be photographed with lead actors. GIRL #1 Female age 18-25 Has one line. The main character confronts her at a diner after overhearing her make comments about dinosaurs. MR. MCGEE Male, age 50+ Creepy man. Two lines. CUSTOMER Male or female age 55+ Has one line while ordering food at a deli. HILLBILLY Male, age 30+. Wears a mullet wig and rides in a canoe. One line. Pokey LaFarge is a great blues, Western Swing, Americana band and they are playing at The Beachland Ballroom on Friday, June 30th. The Beachland is an incredible music venue with tons of room for dancing in the ballroom. I sure did dance up a storm every time I have seen them! We have two free tickets to the Pokey show to give away this Saturday at the Slovenian Swing Dance. All you have to do is attend (buy admission) the swing dance before 10pm, put your name and phone number on a ticket, and put your ticket into the hat. The drawing for free tickets will be done at 10pm. The Slovenian is located at 15335 Waterloo Road. Dance lesson 8-9. DJ music from 9-12. $12 per person, $10 for students and seniors, $5 for first timers. The Beachland is located at 15711 Waterloo Road.
