"Forbidden Broadway" Casting 4 Women & 4 Men Auditions June 11 & 12, 2017 from 6:30-9:00PM Auditions will be held at Bethel Church, 3852 Everett Rd, Richfield, OH 44286 Please bring one comedic songs that best shows off your singing & acting skills. ANY comedy song! (Feel free to gender switch!) You may sing from the show or in the style of the show. Piano accompaniment only. NO recording or a cappella singing at this time. If you have any famous impersonations, feel free to show us! There will be no dance call. No equity contracts at this time. Rehearsals will start June 19 and run Monday - Thursday 6:30-9:30pm. Coach House Theatre is seeking actors, stage managers, designers and run crews for 2017-2018 season. *NOTE: Stage Managers, Designers and Crews please email buckjam(a)gmail.com <buckjam(a)gmail.com> with resume and availability. * Auditions for actors start at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8th 6 p.m. Sunday, July 9th, by appointment only. Coach House Theatre is located behind the Akron Woman’s City Club at 732 W. Exchange Street in Akron. Preparation: Please prepare two contrasting monologues, or one monologue and 16 bars of one musical comedy song, total audition no more than three minutes in length. In lieu of monologue you may read a scene from one of the shows in the season. Accompanist will be provided. Recorded accompaniment (MP3 or CD) is ok. NO A CAPELLA auditions will be considered. In addition, the director has cast the play with an impeccable ensemble of actors. He sets them in motion so perfectly that it's like you are watching a “moving” piece of art.Kronenberger keeps the pace of the intermissionless show moving flawlessly, leaving you with the feeling that you just went on your favorite amusement park ride and you want to get back in line and “go again!”* *Scenic, lighting and sound designer Patrick Ciamacco creates an environment for the piece that is so inviting, it feels like there is no delineation between the audience and the actors. There is a great deal of wine pouring that goes on during the action, and the wide variety of different shaped and colored bottles – a small but very noteworthy act of “prop” brilliance -- really adds to the overall authenticity of the barroom setting.Costumer Luke Scattergood meticulously outfits each character, down to the barmaid's nifty hose and a pair of cool blue shoes. Each character's look is consistent with turn-of-the-century fashions, which is definitely an accomplishment in this day and age. Kudos to Mr. Scattergood.
