Act-It UP! Community Theatre presents... Performance Art for a Cause! This years' production will benefit two local non-profit organizations; Rahab Ministries & The Grief Care Place. Proceeds from ticket sales after expenses will be donated to these organizations. RAHAB is a non-profit ministry of volunteers devoted to restoring women who are trafficked into prostitution in Akron, Ohio. The heart of RAHAB Ministries is compassion. www.rahab-ministries.org. The Grief Care Place has begun offering new services that focus on families who have lost loved ones to opioid overdose, an increasing problem in our society today. www.thegriefcareplace.org *About the Story:* Lynn Sable, a southern belle who makes her home in Louisiana is a successful Inspirational Novelist. Lynn offers a glimpse into her creative process, delivering clues to solve the mystery in a unique and charming way. As she delves into the mystery, guests are invited to discover the correct solution as her characters come alive to illustrate her latest novel. To whom does this broken heart belong? Will it ever be mended? Is there a happy ending in sight? As a writer, Lynn loves building the backstory of all her characters and within "The Mysterious Case of the Broken Heart", we follow the story of the character of Violet. We first see her as a child, an orphan, alone on the streets having run away from an orphanage. We don't know why, perhaps she was abused, perhaps she didn't feel loved or welcome, but it doesn't matter, she is a child and for whatever reason, the adults in her life failed to protect her. Thus begins the path of her life. We see her later, as a teen, trying to fit the pieces of life together, but still she struggles, vulnerable, unable to trust. Presented by Literary Cleveland at the Baseball Heritage Museum6601 Lexington Ave at Historic League Park We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Literary Cleveland! In this 2 part workshop, participants will look at classic sports memoirs, some of which feature Cleveland sports legends like Lebron James, to begin writing your own. Consider H.G. Bissinger’s Friday Night Lights, which took us to Odessa in West Texas and changed how we felt about high school football, spawned a film and TV series. LeBron James’ own “I’m Coming Home” letter is an example of the power of the sports essay. In the second session, you’ll have a chance to get feedback on your own work. Learn to take your sports recollections and craft them into powerful nonfiction narratives.About the presenter: Charlotte Morgan is a veteran reporter and photographer who grew up watching sports with her dad. Traveling to Browns training camp in Hiram, Ohio and watching games at the old Municipal Stadium was a way of life. Her career as a sports reporter began when her high school track team competed to win a State Championship, she traveled across the state to cover their relays. Free Summer Community Concerts at the Baseball Heritage Museum

The Baseball Heritage Museum, located at 6601 Lexington Avenue at League Park, is excited to announce that in partnership with Roots of American Music it is bringing music to to the League Park grounds and the Hough neighborhood this summer! Join us on the first Saturday of the month and the second Friday of the month for concerts featuring the best talent in Cleveland. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and all your family and friends. Free and open to all, thanks to the generous support of the Cleveland Foundation . Saturday concerts begin June 3 at 11:00 am with a ROAM activity followed by The Sam Hooper Band performing electric blues, soul and classic rock from 12:00 to 2:00. Friday concerts begin June 9 at 4:00 pm with a ROAM activity followed by SpYder Stompers and Sugar Pie performing acoustic blues, jazz and old time string classics. "NORTHEAST OHIO COSPLAY SEEKS PRINCES AND PRINCESSES FOR SUMMER PARADES, FESTIVALS, & SHOWS Northeast Ohio Cosplay is seeking male and female actors, singers, and dancers ages 16 - 25 to portray princesses and princes for summer parades, parties, shows, and meet and greets. Have you ever wanted to be a prince or princess? Now's your chance! Have you ever wanted to be a princess for a birthday party group? Add a little performing arts to it and you've come to the right place! Dear NEOPAL Posters - For any questions about posting to the list, check the FAQs: http://www.fredsternfeld.com/neohiopal-faqs/. Really. Do it. There's a lot of good information there and it will save you time and aggravation, and probably get you better results when posting. But, here's something important: Please remember to include ALL relevant information in the body of your post, especially contact information. It seems pretty basic, but if you are hoping for a response to your post, people need to now how to find you. Don't count on people being able to see your personal email address just from the act of posting alone. It's not like sending an email directly from your address to a person, or group of people, from your address book. You'd be surprised at how many people post without including any contact information, and how many times the moderators (Fred and me) get emails from people trying to contact those posters, asking if we can help. Usually, we can't. If you're looking for work, or clients, or people to audition for you, or any kind of response whatsoever, include your contact info in the body of the post, or, chances are, you won't get any responses. And, worse, you'll frustrate the people who do want to contact you, and run the risk of alienating them, losing any future opportunities. In fact, anonymous posts usually get rejected and do not get posted at all. (However, for instance, if you're the piano player who recently announced that you were available to work, and included your name but did not include any way to contact you, you've possibly lost a summer gig. I know this because I've heard from someone who was trying to contact you. The purpose of this list is to connect the arts community in NE Ohio and help provide opportunities.
