Male Dancers needed for MorrisonDance project “In the Space of Dreaming” to premiere at Cleveland Public Theatre

MorrisonDance is seeking to add MALE dancers/performers to our unique dance ensemble for our new project “In the Space of Dreaming” to premiere during Cleveland Public Theatre’s DanceWorks ’17, June 1-3, 2017. In line with MorrisonDance’s goal to synthesize a breadth of dance styles, auditioning performers may have experience in any movement style; however, training in modern, ballet, and/or jazz techniques is preferred. Performers must be 18 or older and have prior performance experience. The project will be heavily rooted in contemporary techniques, improvisational and experimental development, ensemble work and nontraditional partnering. Interested dancers, please submit your resume, photograph (headshot and body shot if available) and any available video links to help us get to know you as a performer! Performers will be required to attend weekly rehearsals and must be available during the week of technical rehearsals, Monday, May 29- Wed May 31, and for the performances on Thursday June 1 – Saturday, June 3. The show centers on a fictional spelling bee set in the geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School. Six quirky adolescents compete in the spelling bee, run by three equally quirky grown-ups. To Whom It May Concern at NEohioPAL, I'm reaching out to see if you know any soon-to-be college graduates that have a particular talent and focus towards a career in prop making? Hartford Stage's Apprenticeship Program is currently accepting applications, until March 1, 20107, for all of our apprenticeships in every department. However, we have a particular need for a properties apprentice applicant for the 2017-2018 season. This is the very program that I did the season following undergraduate graduation (as an education apprentice). I recommend it for any young artist seeking a great professional foundation and foot into the industry. Below please find the properties apprentice description: Properties Apprenticeship The properties apprentice will work within the prop department and will be an active participant in the creation and implementation of the designs for each show as well as learning new skills and techniques while working with top directors and designers. Duties include but are not limited to crafting, researching, purchasing, shop and storage maintenance and organization, as well as assisting with rentals, shop improvement projects and working load in and strike. Ideal candidate will have a degree in art, design and/or theatre arts, with experience working on collegiate or professional productions. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license, as well as the ability to lift at least 40 lbs. Workshop Players Seeking Directors For 2017-2018 Season

Dear Director, We, at Workshop Players, are launching into the process of planning for our 71st season. As the longest running theater-in-the-round in the state of Ohio, we are pleased to invite you to apply to direct during the 2018-2019 season. For several years we put together our season based solely upon submission by directors choosing shows that each had a vision to direct. Though I stand by this process and philosophy, we deviated last year asking for submissions from the first 5 decades our our existence. For the 71st we want to amend the process again while still maintaining director ownership. Below is a list of shows with NAME RECOGNITION. Many are taken from compilations of “The Best Plays of the Past 100 years”. Many are dramas or musicals. There are few comedies from those lists, yet we want to maintain a balance of genres and styles, so we are still interested in including comedies. Please note that though we are presenting a list, we have not thought through the technical aspects of presenting any of these shows in our unique space. That is, as always, the job of the director. We invite you to peruse the list to see if any of the titles intrigue you as a director, get a copy and think through those production elements. We further invite you to make a combination of suggestions to us, choosing 1-2 from the list below, plus 1-2 suggestions of your own if you wish…especially those that fit into the follow categories. Beyond the list below, we are especially interested in FAMILY FRIENDLY SHOWS, AND SHOWS SPECIFICALLY AIMED AT CHILDREN (not necessarily including children in the cast —-could be adults performing a show that would bring children into the theater). If you have already directed at Workshop Players, you need not submit a resume or application, merely your list of play submissions that include and overview of the play and WHY and HOW you believe each would fit into our space. Directors will be interviewed the second week of April by the Board of Trustees when 5 directors will be chosen.
