*THE 2ND ANNUAL CLEVELAND PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL* *NOVEMBER 4 - 6, 2016* *The 2nd Annual Cleveland Playwrights Festival* is a free, weekend-long celebration of the art of dramatic writing and its practitioners in Northeast Ohio. Presented by Playwrights Local, the fest features open writing workshops, staged readings of new plays, and a live performance of a podcast play. *The 2nd Annual Cleveland Playwrights Festival* runs November 4 through 6 at Waterloo Arts in North Collinwood. All sessions are free, with a suggested donation of $10. Reservations are not required for most events, but are suggested for the Saturday afternoon workshops. Motive For Murder is seeking the following for several murder mystery performances in LOUDONVILLE: For DECEMBER 9, 10, 16 & 17 (must be available ALL performance dates): * FEMALE EMPLOYEE: young, attractive and a bit of a Tomboy; a real vixen; age range 20's - 30's For DECEMBER 9 & 10 (must be available BOTH nights): * CRAZY GIRL: sweet little girl type who is prone to mood swings; a real doll; age range 20's - 30's Ideal candidates should be 18 & over, own reliable transportation, have prior theater experience and possess the ability to ad-lib comfortably in character. Comedy chops and improv skills a plus. Prior murder mystery experience not so much (these shows are book heavy NOT improvised outlines). Pay is $100 per. Dinner is included. Gas reimbursement and/or car-pooling is not out of the question. The show times are 6-10 PM (approximate) and call would be 5:15 PM. Rehearsals held weekend late mornings/early afternoons in EUCLID. *Assistant Technical Director * *Department/Division: *Department of Theatre and Dance/Provost, Baldwin Wallace University *Classification:* Technical Specialist (L) *Status:* Full-time, New, exempt *Position Summary:* The Assistant Technical Director of the Department of Theatre and Dance will act as an assistant to the Technical Director in managing the theatre production shops, and training and supervising student workers. Specifically, the ATD will assist in overseeing the sound/audio, lights, props, construction and installation of scenery and other theatre-related technology for all University productions, and will also provide technical support for University public functions and for outside vendor space rentals. *Primary Responsibilities: * -Assist the Technical Director (TD) in daily facility duties and supervision of student workers (i.e. safety, attendance, instruction, supervision, timesheets). -Inventory, manage and run in house sound system and equipment for University events (i.e., EQLS, Marting Lecture Series, University Visitation Days, music rentals, guest lecturers). -Assist with construction of scenery and set up for BW Theatre, Music Theatre, Opera and Dance productions. -Work with guest sound artist for advance sound productions (musicals and concerts), coordinating with rental company, receiving/sending back equipment, and coordinating requests from guest sound artist as required. -Set-up and technical supervision for university events and rentals. (i.e., EQLS, Marting Lecture Series, University Visitation Days, music rentals, guest lecturers). -Assist with lighting hang, focus and maintenance of equipment. -Train and oversee students running, operating and maintaining sound and projection equipment. -Oversee students in transferring design specifications from draftings to realized projects. -Assist with maintenance of tools and technical equipment, ordering of scene shop stock supplies and set construction materials. - Train students in the proper use of tools and equipment, construction techniques, lighting, sound and any specialized theatre techniques such as welding, rigging, etc. *Qualifications: * The candidate must have a Bachelor of Arts degree with proven professional experience in the area of technical theatre, with a strong background in lighting/sound. Expertise in carpentry skills essential. Knowledgeable in Vectorworks. Good organizational, customer service, and communications skills a must. Must possess good technology skills. *Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:* Capable of performing duties that require climbing stairs and ladders, operating genie lifts, bending and twisting, lifting at least 50 pounds and working safely at heights up to 60’. Here's a helpful tip from Neopal Administration: I've gotten several emails lately (and I've gotten them in the past, as well) from subscribers wanting to respond to a post, but not being able to find any contact information. Don't assume that your email address will automatically show up as the address of origin. It often doesn't, especially in the digest version (which is how over half the list elects to receive posts). After it's posted we (the admins) can't really see the address either. Really, it's up to you - the poster - to include all of the pertinent information, including and especially contact information, in the body of the email. Wanted: Second Tenor Sax for the Swingtime Big Band. We are an 18 piece big band based in Cleveland . We rehearse once or twice a month on Tuesdays in Parma Heights, Ohio. We play a varied schedule of concerts and swing dances, playing a few times a month, including a standing gig at Vosh in Lakewood. The group is a mix of experienced people from differing age groups. You will not get rich or make a lot of money with this band so you must like to play big band music and be willing to put in time and effort and enjoy making good music for appreciative audiences.
