*TENOR SOLOIST AND CHOIR ACCOMPANIST POSITIONS AVAILABLE* *CHURCH OF THE SAVIOUR, CLEVELAND HEIGHTS * *TENOR SOLOIST/SECTION LEADER POSITION* This position requires good sight-reading skills to sing with the Chancel Choir (25 voices) weekly (September-June) & sing solos as needed. The Chancel Choir sings in a variety of styles from classical to spirituals as well as one or two concerts a year. Recent repertoire includes Mozart *“Coronation” Mass*, Bach *Cantata #131 **Aus der Tiefe *and Faure *Requiem*. The ideal candidate has good people skills, an interest in providing leadership to a volunteer choir and understands music as part of worship. Choir rehearses on Thursdays 7:30- 9:00 p.m. and sings primarily for the 11:00 a.m. service, plus special services such as Christmas Eve, Easter, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. For Immediate Release: *Orange Community Education and Recreation* STAGECRAFTERS THEATRE *STAGECRAFTERS TEEN ACADEMY ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR * *13 THE MUSICAL (for students in 8th - 12th Grade)* Stagecrafters announces auditions for 13 THE MUSICAL on *Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 12:00-3:00pm* at the Pepper Pike Learning Center, 32000 Chagrin Blvd, Pepper Pike. Please plan on staying for the entire audition from 12:00 – 3:00 pm 13 is a hilarious, coming-of-age musical about discovering that “cool” is sometimes where we least expect it. Evan Goldman is plucked from his fast-paced, preteen New York City life and plopped into a sleepy Indiana town following his parents divorce. Surrounded by an array of simpleminded middle school students, he needs to establish his place in the popularity pecking order. Can he situate himself on a comfortable link of the food chain... or will he dangle at the end with the outcasts?!? Auditions are open to students in grades 8–12. Those wishing to audition should come prepared to sing 32 measures of a song which showcases their vocal performance and song interpretation ability. An accompanist will be provided for those bringing sheet music and a CD player will be available for those wishing to audition with instrumental accompaniment trax. There will also be a dance combination to learn so comfortable clothes and jazz or tennis shoes should be worn. Audition packets can be downloaded at the Stagecrafters page of www.orangerec.com. IN URGENT NEED OF A BOY (12-14) FOR A PLAY I’m directing a show called, “Monster in the Closet” - A play from Pioneer Drama. Monster in the Closet: Emily has a big problem. Not only is she sent to bed just as she reaches the highest level of her new video game, but there’s a monster in her closet! It’s not just her imagination. Her friend Stephanie saw it, too. Suffering the teasing of her brother and his friends, Emily and Stephanie recruit some of their own friends to help capture the monster. What they don’t know is that Murray, the closet monster, doesn’t mean any harm — he only wants to play Emily’s new video game. He’s too scared of kids to even think about trying to frighten them. Murray’s boss, the Dream King, has heard about his goofing off on the job, and now Murray is on probation. Murray’s supervisor, fellow monster Wanda, is not happy with him either. After all, every monster knows that when a child is born, a monster is assigned to watch over her — not to play with her toys and especially not to get caught in the act! What will happen when Emily has all her friends over for a sleepover to try to capture Murray? Even with Emily’s friend Brain’s careful analysis and planning, the girls wind up trapping the Dream King and his secretary, Toady, instead of Murray. With other wonderfully entertaining characters like Sandy the Sandman and his dream weavers, the solution to Emily’s monster problem brings humor, a bit of ingenuity and a little magic to this charming and delightful family show. We are looking for a TOM (he has 70 lines and he would have to memorize the 70 lines quickly) The show dates are August 12 (8:15) and 14 (2:15) at Theatre 8:15 in Green, Ohio Rehearsals have already been in session since last month.
