He's the life of the party, until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. The show features direction and choreography by Kristin Netzband and music direction by Heidi Herczeg. It premiered at Chicago's Northlight Theatre in 2001 and was then produced Off-Broadway <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Off-Broadway> in March 2002. The story explores a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. The show uses a form of storytelling in which Cathy's story is told in reverse chronological order (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and Jamie's is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple have first met). The characters do not directly interact except for a wedding song in the middle as their timelines intersect. *Audition Information:* *Auditions will be held on June 6, 7 between 7 and 10pm at Lakeland Community College in The Performing Arts Center/ Building D. **Park in the Faculty/Staff parking lot (for free). * *Please Bring; One 32 bar cut in the style of the show. Oberlin Choristers' Canterra Musica presents free concert this Sunday, June 5, 3:30 p.m. in Cleveland Heights

*Arts in the Cathedral* is pleased to present *Canterra Musica*, the most advanced treble choir of *Oberlin Choristers, *directed by *Jennifer Call*, Oberlin Choristers’ Artistic Director*.* This free concert will take place this *Sunday, June 5*, at *3:30 p.m*. at *Church of the Saviour* in Cleveland Heights. A freewill offering will be accepted. A reception will follow the concert. Canterra Musica’s summer tour repertoire includes Purcell's *Sound the Trumpet*, Brumfield’s *No Time*, and features Gwyneth Walker's *The Gift to Sing*, a work which the Choristers recently commissioned. This set will also be performed before the Manhattan Concert Productions Children's Choir Festival Choir at Carnegie Hall in June. *Canterra Musica*, comprised of auditioned singers in grades 7-12, has traveled each year since 1995. The choir has sung in world-class venues including the Sydney Opera House, Australia, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Ireland and Chartres Cathedral, France. The singers have also participated in festivals, honor choirs, and in collaboration with Oberlin College Opera Theatre, Cleveland Opera, Oberlin Summer Theatre Festival, and most recently as the guest choir for the world tour of Video Games Live. Founded in 1991, Oberlin Choristers serves the youth of Northeast Ohio offering an exceptional choral education through engaging rehearsals, excellence in performance, and transformative traveling experiences. Singers in grades K-12 are taught in five separate ensembles by master teachers. *Jennifer Call *is the Conductor of Canterra Musica as well as the Artistic Director of Oberlin Choristers. Prior to her appointment as Artistic Director in 2011, she spent over a decade as music educator for all ages in public schools throughout Northeast Ohio. Her focused work in teaching the adolescent changing voice, led to the creation of the Changing Voice Institute held yearly at Oberlin Conservatory. She has been requested as guest lecturer, clinician and guest conductor at universities and honor choirs around the nation. Review of "Tintypes" at Actors' Summit

‘Tintypes’ at Actors’ Summit is a plague upon our houses Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics The eighth biblical plague that tortured Egypt was locusts. If the musical revue had been invented back then, the Egyptians would have caved quicker and Exodus 10:5 would have been a much shorter read. Popular during the Golden Age of bad entertainment, the musical revue is the ugly ancestor of musical theater sans storyline, soul and substance. Its place of performance has been largely reduced to cruise ships, amusement parks and, inexplicably, Akron. “Tintypes,” which offers us a tour through turn of the 19th century American history by way of 49 mostly public domain songs from 1890 to 1917, is currently on stage at Actors’ Summit. Linking the musical revue to locusts is a stretch, but “Tintypes” compares favorably to the plague of cicadas presently invading Northeast Ohio. While the cicadas surface every 17 years and live for only a few weeks at most, “Tintypes”– which was conceived by Mary Kyte with musical arrangements by Mel Marvin and Gary Pearle – appeared on Broadway in 1980 and ran for only 93 performances. Both the cicada and “Tintypes” are small in size and stature, have no bite or sting, and represent the most primitive and least attractive form of their species. One of Northeast Ohio's highest elevations, offering a panoramic view of the west from a 70 ft. open air deck that is exceptionally beautiful in the fall. Established in 1969. Skyview has hosted numerous events over the years. We specialize in Wedding Receptions offering both catered and non-catered events. Skyview is a private held facility. FRIDAY NIGHT WINES The last Friday of each month we are open to the public for our Friday Night Wine Series. Our house band performs for the wine tasting and other special events that are held at the facility. We are currently seeking multi-talented musicians to perform with the house band.
