The Fine Arts Association announces auditions for: The 20th Annual One Act Festival - The Originals Directed by Ann Hedger The Fine Arts Association will once again showcase original 10-minute plays. We received over 700 submissions from playwrights from the East Coast to the West Coast and many other countries around the globe. The Fine Arts Association is thrilled to present these new works again this season. (Rated Adult) Audition Dates: Monday, February 1 - 6:30 pm Tuesday, February 2 - 6:30 pm (Callbacks by invitation only-February 7 at 1:00 pm) The Fine Arts Association 38660 Mentor Avenue Willoughby, OH 44094 Rehearsals begin: Monday, February 15 - 6:30 pm Production Dates: April 8-23, 2016 - 7:30 pm (Fri/Sat) Requirements: CALL FOR APPOINTMENT Call Ann Hedger at 440-951-7500 x103 to make appointment Auditions will be scheduled in groups of six every half hour. Casting all-female on-stage band for STEEL MAGNOLIAS - Cleveland Play House/Playhouse Square

Cleveland Play House (CPH), in association with the Playhouse Square Broadway Series, is casting women who both sing and play an instrument to be part of an on-stage band for Steel Magnolias, directed by CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley. All positions are paid. Singer/Musicians: (F, 20s-40s. Any ethnicity) Two singer/musicians to provide the show's 'soundtrack,' inspired by the music from Truvy's shop radio. They should feel like women who would be Shelby's friends. Possible instruments include strings like guitar, mandolin, banjo, and fiddle; as well as saxophone or trumpet. Style will range from Indigo Girls and Sheryl Crow-type folk-country rock to 80s pop. Singer/musicianss may begin some music rehearsals as early as May 10th. They join the production for Tech Rehearsals from Tuesday, May 17th - May 21st between the hours of 12 noon and midnight. Preview performances begin Saturday, May 22nd with rehearsals continuing between 12-5pm during previews. Opening Night is Friday, May 27th, with performances running Tuesday-Sunday until August 21st. (We are looking to cast 3-4 women for these parts, so that musicians can have some schedule flexibility during the 3-month run.) Auditions are by invitation. Youth Theatre Auditions in Strongsville

This spring, Strongsville Community Theatre is producing "Clue, the Musical," in which the beloved board game comes to life. We can't wait to produce this, and we're proud to make this a youth theatre production. There are great roles in it, including Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlett, Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard; as well as the detective...and of course, Mr. Boddy, the unlucky victim! Every performer will have featured musical and acting moments in this show. It's an ensemble show with starring roles for everyone! The audience will participate as they attempt to figure out whodunnit (and the actors will have to be on their toes, because every night will be different (just like the game, there are hundreds of different endings))! Besides the 8 principal roles, there will also be some smaller roles that will enjoy a lot of stage time, but will have a lighter rehearsal schedule. Mark your calendars for the audition! Open auditions will be this Sunday, January 31, at the Strongsville Senior Center (18100 Royalton Rd, Strongsville) from 2-5 p.m. We're looking for performers from the 8th grade or older. Please be prepared to read from the script, and please bring 32(ish) bars of music from to show off your performing skills. An accompanist will be available. Rehearsals are scheduled on Monday through Thursday, (7-10 PM) starting Monday, February 22. Show dates are 4/22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 5/1 Friday and Saturday 8PM, Matinees at 2PM Sunday. All performances will be in the Old Town Hall in Strongsville -- an old mansion that's a perfect setting for a murder mystery! Michael Columbro will be directing, Ted Larsen will be the assistant director, and Kristen Johnson will be music director.

Inspired by the fanciful setting of the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits (Hua Guo Shan, 花果山), Sun's home in the novel, the performance will treat listeners with a profusion of musical and literary delights.
