Eppfilms along with Artistic By Design will hosting a photography and film showcase. Photographers and Film Makers present your best original photos and short films to a panel of professional judges for a chance to become an award winning photographer and filmmaker! Photos must be at least 10x13, matted or framed. Films may be any length and can be submitted via DVD, Dropbox or Youtube link. Photographs and films will be viewed by the public during the showcase followed by a public award ceremony. $20.00 fee for one entry and $25.00 for 2 or more entries. *The Movement Project 2015-2016 Season* *Call for Musicians: **Application Due September 1st* The Movement Project is a professional modern dance company whose mission is to challenge perspectives, evoke social change and to bridge communities through the power of movement. For our 2015-2016 season, TMP is creating a new work exploring the physical and emotional state of musicians during performance. We are looking to hire 3 musicians to compose, collaborate and perform with 3 TMP choreographers. Together, the choreographer and artist will create a piece with original composition and a choreographic work that explores the complexities in the musical score, as well as the physical embodiment of musicians in performance. The final product will include 3 dance solos accompanied onstage by a musician. Length of each solo will be between 5-6 minutes long. Meaning each musician must compose a work between 5-6 minutes in length. The performance will take place May 20th and 21st, 2015 at the Lakewood Masonic Temple and a “work in progress preview” on February 27th (location TBD). Lakeland Civic Chorus to hold open auditions 2015-2016 season under new direction Aug. 6, 2015—KIRTLAND, Ohio—The Lakeland Community College Civic Chorus is hosting an open call for choral singers to perform in the 2015-2016 season. The open call will be at the first rehearsal Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 7:30–9:30 p.m. on the main campus, 7700 Clocktower Drive, 44094, in the music room C-1078. Lakeland students may earn one college credit per semester for their participation. The chorus will perform three concerts this academic season. Performances are scheduled for Oct. 25 and Dec. 6, 2015, and April 17, 2016. Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:30–9:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 25. The Lakeland Civic Chorus performs music styles ranging from medieval chant to contemporary popular, and compositions for a traditional SATB (soprano, alto, tenor bass) choral ensemble, as well as pieces written specifically for women’s voices or men’s voices. Leonard DiCosimo has been named the new director of the Lakeland Civic Chorus. DiCosimo is the president of the Cleveland Federation of Musicians, Local 4, and the director of music ministry at Pilgrim Congregational Church in Tremont. He has served on the conducting faculty at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music where he directed the women’s, college and motet choir, as well as taught conducting courses.
