For Immediate Release: The Conneaut Arts Center is hosting a one-day acting workshop taught by award-winning Hollywood professionals Linda Phillips Palo and Paul Palo with decades of experience producing, acting, and casting in Hollywood. (MA) is a casting director and producer who won the Artios, the highest casting honor for her work casting Sophia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides, Jeepers Creepers 2, and cult hit Ginger Snaps. She has also worked as the casting director for Francis Ford Coppola on his films The Rainmaker (Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Jon Voight) and Jack (Robin Williams, Diane Lane, Jennifer Lopez,) The Secret Garden, Heaven’s Prisoners, Wind, over fifty feature films, and award-winning short films and TV shows. Paul Palo has joined wife Linda for the past few years as a producing and casting partner working on several edgy independent films. Most recently as Associate Producers and casting directors on Happiness Runs. Twin Masks Performing Arts Center (TMPAC) is proud to announce auditions for its upcoming production, Venus in Fur, written by David Ives, on Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10, both nights from 7 PM to 9 PM. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Directed by Brian Westerley. Performance dates: August 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17, 2024. 8pm curtain. Twin Masks is located at 9076 Church St., Suites 2 and 3, in the center of Twinsburg, across the street from the Twinsburg Square. THE STORY: Thomas, a beleaguered playwright/director, is desperate to find an actress to play Vanda, the female lead in his adaptation of the classic sadomasochistic tale Venus in Fur. Into his empty audition room walks a vulgar and equally desperate actress—oddly enough, named Vanda. Though utterly wrong for the sophisticated part, Vanda exhibits a strange command of the material, piquing Thomas’ interest with her seductive talents and secretive manner. As the two work through the script, they blur the line between play and reality, entering into an increasingly serious game of submission and domination that only one of them can win. Writer, actor, director, Cleveland native, and graduate of Boston University, Rachel's plays have been seen onstage throughout Ohio. Rachel has also been acting for over 30 years, performing on numerous stages, including Playhouse Square, Dobama Theatre, Ensemble Theatre, Cain Park, Playwrights Local, and Halle Theatre.
