Notre Dame College Presents our Fall 2023 New Plays Festival! The theme for this year's festival is Social Awareness. Notre Dame’s Fall 2023 Theatre Ensemble students will perform world premiere workshop productions of: Hope's Diner by Reginald Edmund. Benchmark by Casidy Thomas (NDC Class of 2023) In-Limbo by The Fall 2023 Theatre Ensemble members. Friday, November 17th, Saturday, November 18, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 19th, at 2 p.m., all in Regina Auditorium on the campus of Notre Dame College The College’s New Play Festival is open to all Notre Dame faculty, staff and students as well as all Cuyahoga County residents. The event is FREE! With a $5 suggested donation to support The Performing Arts Department at Notre Dame College Run time for the three short pieces is 1hr and 15min. The three scripts were presented as Staged Readings earlier this semester in September! Join us and be a part of the new play process and celebrate these new works!! The Dark Room is an ongoing event held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Dark Room affords emerging and veteran playwrights the space and resources to develop new works. It offers a venue to workshop plays, novels, poems, or any other written work in a supportive, yet critical environment. *Tuesday, November 14th* *The Church at CPT* (Just east of the Gordon Square Theatre Box Office) Cleveland Public Theatre 6415 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102 *6:45 - 7:00pm: *Sign-up begins for writers and actors (space is limited). Writers can bring up to 10 minutes of work to be read; actors will be cast on the spot! But questions can lead to trouble. As McCloud unfolds the mystery, he wonders who to trust; the heartbroken waitress, the elderly foreigner or the overprotective sheriff? What are they all hiding? Lorain Community Music Theater announces a Director Search for its upcoming musical production of “9 to 5”, to be performed July 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2024. Performances will take place at the Lorain High School Performing Arts Center, located at 2600 Ashland Ave., Lorain, OH 44052. Auditions and some rehearsals will take place at an off-site location in Lorain. This is a paid staff position. Prospective Directors should submit a cover letter and resume including past directorial experience and any other pertinent information no later than December 1, 2023. I am in need of a substitute violinist for our production of ANASTASIA at Green High School (Akron/Canton area) this Saturday, Nov. 18 @ 2:00pm. Availability for a rehearsal on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 6:00-9:00pm is a plus but not required. Stipend is $60 per call. This is a rescheduled performance as we had to move our Friday night performance due to the school's football team advancing in the playoffs, which has caused a scheduling conflict with our violin player. This is for students who want to learn about the style of the show so they can choose an appropriate song for auditions.
