The One Of A KIND theater company has 25 years worth of Full Sets, Props, and many select Set Pieces for rent. When the Beachwood Community Theater was abruptly shut down we collected all that we could carry and store to assist other local Theaters in their ventures. Listed below is a brief description of our inventory. CWRU Department of Dance presents "Reflections"

Case Western Reserve University’s Department of Dance presents Reflections, an evening of exciting new and revisited works, featuring Cave Of The Heart by Martha Graham, Into the Wind, a new duet by department chair Karen Potter, as well as the return of Gary Galbraith’s technology-infused In Another Place and Time and Janice Rosario’s Brink. Reflections will be performed on November 10, 11, 16-18 at 7:30pm and November 12th at 2:30pm at Mather Dance Center, 11040 Bellflower Road, on the Case Western Reserve campus in University Circle. Cave of the Heart These performances mark the first time that this ballet is being performed outside of the Martha Graham Dance Company. This milestone reflects the strengths and accomplishments of the department in its long track record of pioneering achievements. This 1946 ballet is Ms. Graham's primal, passionate study of the destructive powers of love and jealousy, featuring the dramatic set by Isamu Noguchi and powerful music by Samuel Barber. The entire Noguchi sculpture/set design has been moved to Cleveland and will be on stage for the performances. Into the Wind A duet by Karen Potter that blends the beauty of contemporary partnering with aerialist acrobatic movements. The dancers emerge from the 'forest of aerial silk fabric' and move it with sweeping and swirling motions before ascending the silks to perform breathtaking, gravity defying movements. Set to music by Elena-kats Chernin, the duet will be performed by Department of Dance faculty Richard Oaxaca with two different partners, alumna Yidi Lin and graduate student Katherine Averill. In Another Place and Time Gary Galbraith’s three-sectioned work In Another Place And Time is another in his long line of media-rich dance works. Galbraith, who the Cleveland Plain Dealer has called “..an innovator in dance and technology”, created this abstract work, a visually stunning landscape, set to intensely beautiful music by Armand Amar. The creation of this new work is supported by Galbraith’s 2022 EHI grant and is a collaboration between Galbraith, Mike Martens, CWRU Professor of Physics, and Jared Bendis, Creative New Media Officer for CWRU's Freedman Center. This work harnesses new LiDAR technology to track dancers on stage in real time during the performance. The dancers’ movements are then connected to visual projections and multi-channel audio to bathe the audience in music and visuals from all directions. Brink In a five day residency last year, contemporary NY-based choreographer Janice Rosario worked with graduate students and undergraduate dance majors to set Brink: “When we are at the cusp of reaching our goals, we give it all and more.” Brink dives into the being within reach of your aspirations and how striving for them affects us on the individual and community level. Ticket Information Tickets are $10 for students with ID, $12 for seniors age 60+ and CWRU personnel, and $15 for general admission. Lighting and Spot Operators Needed for "Elf" (Opening Nov. 17)

Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's "Elf, The Musical" is approaching *another* sell-out run, having broken box office records with a total sell-out in 2022. We have volunteer opportunities for a Light Board Operator, a Follow Spot Operator, and several Backstage Crew Members for our performances! We will train – no experience is necessary! See the show for FREE and get two comps for friends or family (while supplies last). Light Board and Follow Spot Operators must be able to climb the ladder to get into and out of the booth, and must attend all tech rehearsals, starting November 12th, and all performances. Backstage Crew Members must be able to move set pieces and/or assist with costume changes as instructed. *If a candidate has to miss 1-2 performances, finding a substitute may be possible, however all rehearsals during tech week are REQUIRED. Our tech rehearsal schedules and performance schedules are as follows. Rehearsals – Attendance is MANDATORY - Sunday, November 12th from 6:00pm (*12:00pm if possible*) – until finished (may go as late as 10:30pm) – Tech Day! We’ll start with a cue to cue run of the show, and break for dinner, which will be provided. Gurney The play is set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household; the place for daily breakfast and dinner and any and all special occasions. The action involves a mosaic of interrelated scenes -- some funny, some touching, some rueful. The actors change roles, personalities and ages, portraying little boys to stern grandfathers, giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events dovetailing swiftly and smoothly into a theatrical experience of exceptional range, compassionate humor and abundant humanity. Katherine Calvey will be performing with the Parma Symphony Orchestra on December 3, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Valley Forge High School. Here is Katherine's Bio: Katherine Calvey is delighted to return to her hometown- Cleveland, OH after serving as the principal flutist of The Camerata de Coahuila where she collaborated musically with prominent artists such as Rene Fleming and Jose Carreras. In Latin America, Katherine served as the principal flutist in The Barranquilla Symphony and later in The Sinfônica del Valle, Colombia. She was principal flutist in The Acapulco Philharmonic followed by The Chihuahua State Philharmonic. She was guest principal flutist in The Monterrey Symphony Orchestra and played piccolo and flute in Mexico City’s Minería Symphony. Ms. Calvey was also a guest principal flutist in China. Ms. Calvey's orchestral career led to important venues such as Carnegie Hall with The National Youth Guild Orchestra (due to the guidance of Dr. Laycock) and to Europe with The American Wind Symphony. She also performed in Battle Creek Symphony, MI; Cleveland Choral Arts Society Orchestra; Comic Opera Guild of Ann Arbor, MI; Mansfield Symphony, OH; Ohio Light Opera; Pueblo Symphony, CO; Rochester Symphony, MI; Traverse City Symphony, MI; and Warren Symphony, MI. As a concerto soloist, Katherine has appeared with the national symphonies of El Salvador, and of Peru, OSIJUT Orchestra, Sonora State Symphony and Manizales Chamber Orchestra, She has performed recitals in locations such as Curacao and Hawaii; chamber music concerts in Italy, Mexico and Colombia; and in international music festivals in El Paso, TX Mexico City, Monterrey and Quito, Ecuador, Ms. Calvey began her studies with members of The Cleveland Orchestra while playing in The Inaugural Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Jahja Ling, and The Baldwin Wallace Preparatory Orchestra under the direction of Rand Laycock. She received master classes with renowned flutists such as Sir James Galway. At sixteen years old, Katherine won The Inaugural Littmann Music Competition in New York. The following year she won The Cleveland Rotary Club Music Competition proceeded by winning The Agnes Fowler Wind Competition of The Ohio Federation of Music Clubs; The Tuesday Music Club Competition; and The Mid Atlantic Flute Competition in Washington D.C. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from The Peabody Institute of Music Johns Hopkins and Master of Music degree from The University of Michigan , where she studied as a full scholarship student of Leone Buyse. She has taught flute on four continents. Nearly all of her former students hold professional music positions. She was the flute professor and head of the wind instruments department at The Conservatory of Music in Chihuahua and the head of the flute department at The University of Cauca in Colombia. Ms. Calvey founded and directed the CEMT Symphony Orchestra and was the guest conductor in Saltillo Mexico. She thanks Dr. Laycock for his support in preparing for the directing opportunities. Ms. Calvey has recorded three compact discs, “Flute Fantasia”; “Silent Night”-with flute and guitar; and, “Canyon Echo”- repertoire for solo flute recorded live inside Namurachi Canyon, Mexico.
