Otherwise, we will just assign you the best available slot. We will do our best to accommodate you. *If you cannot make auditions, please email us your headshot and resume for consideration. If possible, submit a video audition for consideration. We do our best to see and consider additional people, but attending auditions is always ideal. Audition Date: Monday October 30th Time: 7:00pm-10:00pm What to prepare: Please prepare one or two brief musical theatre songs, or in the style of the show, showing range. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring a headshot and resume to auditions. Headshots and resumes are appreciated, but not required. Performance Dates: December 1 - 16 Shows will be Thursday-Sunday. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00pm. Sunday performances will be at 7:00pm. Rehearsals: Begin Monday November 6th Rehearsals will be Sundays-Thursdays. Typically, 7pm-10pm, though Sundays are usually 6pm-10pm. Pay: Blank Canvas Theatre dedicates 20% of the net profit to the cast of each show. The cast splits this evenly. *At this time there are no AEA Contracts for this show. However, we may explore the option if needed. Location: Blank Canvas Theatre 1305 78th Street, Suite 211 (at 78th Street Studios) Cleveland, OH 44102 The Story THE CLEVELAND PREMIERE Rocky Balboa is a small-time Philadelphia boxer who is chosen to take on the reigning world heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed, when the undefeated fighter's scheduled opponent is injured. As he diligently trains for the fight, Rocky begins a relationship with Adrian, a wallflower who is tired of being pushed around by her brother. As their love grows, Rocky and Adrian each find their inner strength and bring out the best in each other. With equal parts grit and heart, Rocky is about the triumph of spirit, strength, and love. >From the Academy Award(r) winner for Best Picture, Rocky has entered the ring again in this musical adaptation. Rocky is a hard-hitting yet tender musical with music and lyrics by Tony(r) winners and Academy Award(r) nominees Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, and a book by multiple Tony winner Thomas Meehan, adapted from the acclaimed Oscar(r)-nominated screenplay by Sylvester Stallone. ALL OTHER roles are open to all types, all ethnicities, and actors with disabilities unless otherwise noted. *Rocky Balboa (Male. 25-45) This role has been cast and will be played by Michael Snider. An amateur boxer with dreams and determination. He aspires to have a shot at the heavyweight championship and a better life. *Apollo Creed (Male. 25-45) This role has been cast and will be played by Matt Deus. A confident African American championship fighter. He is everyone's favorite to win the heavyweight title. Adrian Pennino (Female. 25-45) A shy pet store clerk. Her life is overshadowed by her domineering older brother, Paulie. Vocal range top: D5. Vocal range bottom: G3 Mickey Goldmill (Male. 50-80) Rocky's trainer, a father figure to him. A former boxer himself, Mickey is passionate about boxing. Vocal range top: B3. Vocal range bottom: D3 Paulie Pennino (Male. 35-50) Adrian's bullying older brother. He tries to use Adrian and Rocky as pawns to get what he wants. Gloria (Female. 40-50) The vivacious owner of the pet store where Adrian works. Paulie's love interest. Vocal range top: D5. Vocal range bottom: Db4. Joanne (Female. 18-50) A friend and coworker of Gloria and Adrian. Vocal range top: E5 Vocal range bottom: C4 Angie (Female. 18-50) A friend and coworker of Gloria and Adrian. Vocal range top: D5 Vocal range bottom: D4 Gazzo (Male. 18-60) A ruthless loan shark who employs Rocky. Vocal range top: E4. Vocal range bottom: D3. Jergens (Male. 18-60) Apollo Creed's promoter. Shadowlands is the unlikely true-life love story between noted British Christian author C.S. (Jack) Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia) and American writer Joy Gresham, who happens to be both Jewish and divorced. Before Joy and her son unexpectedly drop into Jack's life, he led a comfortable bachelor existence, teaching, writing, and lecturing at Oxford. Once Joy appears, things dramatically change. He is forced to approach everything, including his personal faith in God, from his heart, not his mind. WordStage presents a Bram Stoker Spooktacular

Bram Stoker’s Bedtime Stories Known mainly as the author of the classic Dracula, Bram Stoker has not received the attention he deserves for his other masterly tales of horror. WordStage will endeavor to correct this oversight by presenting two of his spine-tingling short stories from the collection he titled The Bram Stoker Bedtime Companion. Featured are two examples of Stoker’s most macabre musings. First, we tell the terrifying tale of The Secret of the Growing Gold, which chronicles the scandals and animosities of two feuding families – the Delandres and the Brents - and the misfortunes visited on both their houses. The second is the recounting of an innocent student who, against all good sense and heedless of the residents’ warnings, rents The Judges House, and falls prey to the evil within it. The readings will be accompanied by malevolent music from classical composers such as Saint-Saens, Schubert, Grieg and Mendelssohn, performed on violin and piano. The readings will be performed by WordStage Company members Agnes Herrmann, Stuart Hoffman, Paul Slimak, Leslie Stager, Tim Tavcar and Brian Westerly. Their words will be enhanced by Mary Beth Ions on the Violin and Patrick Wickliffe on the piano. Our performance will take place on Saturday, October 28th at 7:00 p.m. in the Wright Chapel at the Lakewood Presbyterian Church –14502 Detroit Ave, in Lakewood, Ohio.
