ALL ROLES AVAILABLE!! Adults and children ages 13 and up. Show Information: It’s the 1950s, hula hoops are in high demand, and so is Little Red Riding Hood! Wise Prince Jason (winner of the Math Olympics and the Nobel Prize), Strong Prince Justin (who can bench press his own mother), and ordinary Loud Prince Frank all want to woo Red Riding Hood. The king and queen hire the Fairy Godmother to set three tasks for the princes. Only the prince who can find the missing girl, defeat the dragon, and awaken a castle visitor from her slumber earns the right to woo Wed Widing Hood that is, Red Riding Hood! Alas, Little Red’s couch potato parents don’t want to lose their little girl. How else will they get their cookies delivered to Grandmother? So they hire the evil queen to thwart the Fairy Godmother’s contest. Luckily, Little Red Riding Hood’s two sisters, Big Green Riding Hood and Medium Purple Riding Hood, help balance out the situation. Complete with the Big Bad Wolf and a sock-hopping 1950s score is guaranteed to end in happily ever after laughter for audiences and performers of all ages! *Audition Notice: * *JACOB MARLEY'S CHRISTMAS CAROL* by Tom Mula Directed by Jonathan Wilhelm *Auditions: *Monday, August 7 and Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 7-8:30 pm *Show Dates:* November 3 - December 3, 2023 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm *(no show on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23)* *Story: *The flip-side of Charles Dickens' holiday classic as told through the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge's deceased business partner, Jacob Marley. The script is written in the style of Story Theater, where actors take multiple roles, alternate between narration and dialogue, break the fourth wall and incorporate pantomime. Story Theater makes inventive use of props and costume pieces with the actors creating the sound effects. *Characters: *The script calls for four performers. Auditions are open to performers of all races, ethnicities and gender identification. Those auditioning are encouraged, but not required, to bring any musical instruments they may play and perform 16 bars of any Christmas or holiday song. Auditioners are also encouraged to display any additional talents they may have, i.e. juggling, acrobatics, circus skills, dialects, etc. These are not requirements. convergence-continuum is seeking a PT Technical director to join its leadership team! Position Summary The Technical Director manages and implements technical aspects of our productions. The Technical Director is expected to function independently in an environment conducive to the development of new and environmental work with changing priorities and detail-critical deadlines. The Technical Director is responsible for managing projects from conception through completion with the design and creative teams for each production and bringing shows in on budget. In conjunction with the Executive Artistic Director, the Technical Director will take an active role in facilitating communication with Designers and Technical Staff. Primary Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the design team and other production staff to establish methods for executing the design and construction of scenery and its integration with other technical elements of the productions. - Maintain clear communication with designers and with production staff to ensure successful integration of a show’s technical elements. - Attend all design presentations, meetings, rehearsals, and run-throughs as designated by the Executive Artistic Director. - Provide supervision for all load-in and work calls during the production process coordinating activity with other staff. - Serve as lead carpenter for each production. - Prepare a build and strike schedule for each production. - Supervise, manage, and support the technical staff for each production including build over hire, sound engineer, master electrician, and other technical staff to promote a safe, healthy, and productive, working environment. - Alongside the design team, assist with the completion of designs as needed; basic scenic painting, props and supplies acquisition. - Actively participate in team building, fostering a work environment incorporating the values of convergence-continuum. - Coach and develop staff and over hire by monitoring the quality of individuals work and providing constructive feedback. - Advises production managers, lighting and sound designers, on the technical specifications, costs and usage of technical equipment required for the individual show, and supervises the implementations of approved technical designs. - Monitors the condition of equipment including lighting, sound, projection, and rigging equipment; arranges for the repair and replacement within budgetary constraints; performs preventive maintenance on equipment. - Makes recommendations to the theater leadership regarding capital purchases of technical equipment. Required Qualifications: - Demonstrated ability to lead teams in non-profit theatre production. - Commitment to creating and maintaining an equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist environment that values diversity. - Demonstrated ability in scenic construction and carpentry. - Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following areas: Lighting, Sound, Projection. - Optional: Experience with AutoCad, Vectorworks, qLab and ETC EOS Software. Reports to: Executive Artistic Director. Supervision: Functional supervision of Designers. Hours & Pay: $750/month, hours flexible as needed, this position is part time, usually to not exceed 20 hours a week.
