Cassidy Theatre in Parma Heights, OH is looking for works from local playwrights to produce as part of its 2022 season. This work would be fully staged on our main stage as part of our 2022 season, and will run for two weekends. We are primarily looking for full-scale works, but will also consider smaller works or cycles of smaller works as well that fit together to support a theme. Of particular interest to our selection committee are works regarding social themes such as race, identity, ethnicity, or other types of social injustice within communities. Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) presents a special Saturday Concert in the Country at HeARTland, 8187 Camp Road, Homerville, OH 44235, with NEO Steel Drum as they bring the sounds of the Caribbean to the country with their steel drum ensemble from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the rhythmic sounds around the HeARTland pond. About the Musicians Erynn and Wilbur Krebs are staples of the steel drum scene in Northeast Ohio. Between the two of them, they play almost a dozen instruments and play any and all styles of music. David Singhaus, originally from Dover, Ohio, graduated from University of Akron and pursued a master’s at George Mason University, under the direction of steel pan virtuoso Victor Provost. After graduating in 2020, he returned home and is an active musician and teacher in the area. Matt Diehl, originally from Orrville, graduated from University of Akron and pursued a master’s at Indiana University, graduating in 2019. In addition to freelance playing and teaching, Matt has co-taught the ORMACO after-school steel drum program since the Fall of 2019.
