Workshop Players will hold auditions for Nunsensations! The Nunsense Vegas Revue By Dan Goggin at Workshop Players Theater on Sunday, June 28 from 2:30 - 4:30pm and Tuesday, June 30 from 7 - 9pm This is the sixth installment of the Nunsense series, taking the Sisters on a brand new adventure. When a parishioner volunteers to donate $10,000 to the Sisters' school - on the condition that they perform in a Las Vegas club - Mother Superior is hesitant to accept. After being convinced by the other sisters that "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," Reverend Mother agrees. What follows is the most feather-filled, sequin-studded, fan dancing Nunsense show. Director Dave Stacko is looking for 4 Females in the following roles: Rev Mother 45-60 Sr. Mary Paul (Amnesia) 20-35 Sr. Robert Anne 35-50 Sr. Leo 30-45 The role of Sr. Hubert has been cast. THE RECKLESS RUTHLESS BRUTAL CHARGE OF IT, or THE TRAIN PLAY ROARS INTO THE STATION STARTING THIS FRI, JUNE 26 AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM convergence-continuum presents the Ohio premiere of Liz Duffy Adams' comic-poetic derailment of apocalyptic nightmares and American dreams. Imagine you're on a train, at night with a strange full moon, hurtling at the speed of light toward destiny. Here it is that eight strangers meet: a twelve-year-old girl with the powers of a comic-book heroine who manipulates time; a jaded Earth Goddess with a soft spot for very old scotch; an unraveling horny physicist fleeing a terrifying truth she's only just glimpsed; a young man on the run from predatory angels; a disenchanted travel writer who's just trying to pay his bills; and three Russian brothers on a musical mission of peace to America. While they ride, the destruction of their universe looms as they speed along a comic-poetic collision course with time, custom and connection, while they zoom toward a supernatural climax. THE TRAIN PLAY is directed by con-con's Artistic Director, Clyde Simon, and features company actors Robert Branch, Tim Coles, Marcia Mandell, Jack Matuzewski, Beau Reinker and Lauren B Smith, and con-con newcomers Taylor Tucker and Cody Zak. Tune in as America’s swinging sweethearts--Pete Bartel (Mike Guffey) and Keely Stevens (Tina Starkey) -- a formerly marriedcouple are reunited for a live television special re-living their illustriousmusical career on TV, in Las Vegas showrooms, and at the top of the hit parade. The only catch – they haven’t spoken sincetheir big breakup at Caesar’s Palace five years ago.As the show has it, Pete and Keelyhad their popularity in the 1950’s and 1960’s -- apparently intended as a sortof second tier Steve and Eydie, though less accomplished and certainly lesscompatible. By 1968 a few years aftertheir divorce, each is in a career slide, with slow selling solo albums and busand truck tours of musicals. The TVspecial is meant to put Pete and Keely back on top.
