Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser, ("I'm not crazy, I've just been in a bad mood for forty years"); an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a "good ole boy." Filled with hilarious repartee and not a few acerbic but humorously revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy in the second act. A new comedic web-series is coming to Northeast Ohio! Coffee Break follows a group of 20-somethings who all seem to show up at the same local coffee house at the same time. Through their need of caffeine and hilarious antics they develop a unique and unlikely friendship. Since I will be participating in various festivals for my other projects I want to have something solid to pitch and a group of talented people willing to make this happen. He is a funny and nice guy, but can't seem to hold a job for more than a few months which frustrates him, even though he covers up his anger by making others laugh and doing outrageous things. Wade (Male) - late 20's. Wade is a personal trainer and yoga enthusiast. He is the calm guy of the bunch, but enjoys all of the laughs he gets from the rest of the group. Baldwin Wallace Men's Chorus. B-W Conservatory Community Outreach, Boesel Musical Arts Center, 49 Seminary St., Berea. Seeking new members (college students and men from the community) to join 100-member group, to perform a half-dozen concerts, plus live Christmas-season performance on WCLV, and singing the National Anthem at an Indians game, during the 2015-2016 season (August 25th to early May). Auditions 3-10 PM Monday, August 24th. Contact director Frank Bianchi (fbianchi(a)bw.edu) to schedule an audition or for questions about the Chorus. Previous musical experience (instrumental or vocal) and basic knowledge of music reading and pitch matching are preferred. Come prepared with a classical (art) song or Broadway piece that shows your vocal range, or you can sing "My Country 'Tis of Thee" (accompanist provided). Rehearsals are Tuesdays 7-9 PM at Baldwin Wallace University. Annual membership costs are $50 for students and $150 for community members, with some scholarships available. THEATER NINJAS presents "Adventure!"

Embark on Adventure Adventure is a workshop of interactive experiments that mix theater, puzzles, games and arduino gadgets to create surprising emergent narratives driven by the audience’s decisions. We're partnering with Tabletop Board Game Cafe to bring you a week long workshop full of game experiences that blur the boundaries between play, story and theatre. Borrowing from live interactive fiction and video games, (with a dash of Locked Room puzzles and tarot cards readings), these gaming experiments use the audience’s decisions and the human mind's agility for drawing connections to reveal and create stories. Audience ‘players’ will explore different modes of interaction in very different worlds that unveil and reconfigure story elements to generate new meanings. Importantly, there are no ‘actors’ in these experiments; the theater exists in each players’ experience. The workshop consists of three different ‘games’ that explore audience agency in different ways. Each game can be played in any order and played multiple times. These are works-in progress, so the audience can also give suggestions on how to develop each piece further. The goal of the workshop is discover new theatrical techniques that will make their way into future Theater Ninjas productions. Tickets for the Adventure workshop are $5 (Tabletop gaming fee) plus the roll of a 6-sided die (on a roll of ‘6’, players can keep the die).
