BTOTS Presents Next to Normal

Brecksville Theater On The Square proudly announces the second mainstage production of its 42nd season: Next to Normal. Next to Normal is a rock opera written by Brian Yorkey (book/lyrics) and Tom Kitt (music) concerning a mother who struggles with bipolar disorder and the effect of the illness on her family. It addresses not only the disease, but the family's attempts to alleviate it, as well as deal with grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry and the underbelly of suburban life. It won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and three Tony Awards in 2009, with eleven nominations. Directed by Ian Atwood and music directed by Matthew Grittner, this story is brought to life by some of the area's finest talent: Isabel Billinghurst, Dan Folino (appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity), Dan Hoy, Michael Knobloch, Michael Snider and Dawn Sniadek-Yamokoski. Show times are as follows: April 29-30, May 6-8, May 13-15; Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30, with Sunday matinees at 2:00. Performances will be held at the Old Town Hall theater on Public Square in Brecksville, at the corner of Ohio Routes 21 and 82. The theater is handicapped-accessible. Tickets are $14 available online at www.btots.org, or at the door. There is no service charge for buying tickets online. Seating for all shows is reserved. Please note: due to the presence of some adult content in this show, parental guidance is advised. Next to Normal is presented in cooperation with Music Theatre International, New York, NY. Crooked River Comedy Festival - April 15th and 16th

Details The Crooked River Comedy Festival debuts April 15th and 16th! The festival showcases stand up and improv comedy, featuring premier acts from across Northeast Ohio, Columbus, Pittsburgh, PA, and Boston, MA. Nearly 20 different improv groups and stand-up comics make up the two-day festival at the The Bevy inbirdtown, in Lakewood, Ohio. Workshops also available during the day on Saturday, April 16. Single night tickets are available for $15. All-Access passes are available for $25 and include access to all shows on Friday and Saturday nights. Participation in the improv comedy workshops on Saturday afternoon is available for an additional registration fee of $25 per session. Tickets will also be available at the door at the same price, as long as the shows are not sold out. "Clue, the Musical" The beloved board game comes to life... "Clue, the Musical" opens in less than three weeks! Strongsville Community Theatre is excited to produce an “outside the box” youth theatre production of "Clue, the Musical" at Old Town Hall in Strongsville, which is the perfect setting -- a historic building that perfectly matches the play's mysterious atmosphere. The cast is populated with a talented group of performers that includes artists with experience all over the Northeast Ohio area. The fun will include trivia games, and there will be a prize awarded at each performance to a winner drawn from audience members who correctly solve the mystery! Snacks will be available at our concession stand at a family-friendly price. Show dates are 4/22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 5/1. Curtain times: Friday and Saturday at 8 PM, Sunday Matinees at 2PM. display panels free to a good home

Free to a good home: we have a 20 year-old modular panel display that - when fully assembled - makes a nice temporary "back wall" to attach graphics and signs. The panels are gray felt on at least one side (some have a wood panel on the second side; others have felt on both sides; panels are reversible). Although they are technically "portable," this display is bulky and heavy; it would be better suited for a small theatre lobby, where it could reside on a more permanent basis. Graphics attach easily, using Velcro. There is some slight wear and dents, but nothing strategic plants and lighting couldn't mask. The display can also be configured to be a tabletop display.
