Playwright Local’s ‘Objectively/Reasonable’ hits home hard Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics Dontre Hamilton. Eric Garner. Ezell Ford. Akai Gurley. Michael Brown Jr. Do you recognize these names? If not, you’ve stumbled onto the reason behind “Objectively/Reasonable,” a dramatic work receiving its world premiere at Playwrights Local. These names represent just a few of the unarmed black men in America who have been recently killed by white police officers. “Objectively/Reasonable” serves to call attention to these deaths and the Black Lives Matter movement by drawing focus to Cleveland and the fatal 2014 shooting of 12-year-old Tamir Rice. Tamir became a sad statistic on a cold November afternoon under the gazebo of the Cudell Recreation Center and will be forever linked to the phrase “objectively reasonable,” which has become the legal standard for justifiable force in local law enforcement. Saturday Master Classes at Verb Ballets Studio Verb Ballets is excited to offer a Master Classes on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Verb Ballets' Studio in Shaker Heights. Taught by professionals Pamela Pribisco and Saundra Bohl. Open to all dancers ages 10+ who would like to attend from local studios, colleges or community. Cost is $55 for the full day or $20 per class. Pre-registration required. Ballet and Pointe with Pamela Pribisco The class will work on grace, precision of movement and musicality. Emphasis is on correct body placement and developing a love of dance. Followed by pointe class which includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. Spanish Dance with Saundra Bohl This class will focus on learning elements of Spanish dance including Flamenco, Regional, Classical, and Escuela Bolera styles. Emphasis on technique which includes footwork, upper body and arms. Character shoes or jazz shoes suggested and skirts encouraged but not required.
