Lone Buzzard Filmworks is casting a female actor for the film "Cuyahoga Valley Bigfoot." The film is a multi-location comedy-horror short (30+ minutes). Production began July 17 and will continue through September. Casting Requirements: Female actor for indoor green screen shoot. Age 18 to 26. Role is television field reporter. Must have an attractive news reporter look and professional wardrobe selections. A one-day, approximately 2 hour shoot in Richfield, Ohio: afternoon or evening, preferably before September 5. This is an important speaking role under ten lines. Please note: The film is a Triple-B tribute to a post-rules generation (blood, boobs and beast) but absolutely no nudity of any kind, nor fake blood, etc., for the actor being cast. Just a news report from the field. No pay or travel allowance, but guaranteed clip for actor's reel, film credit, IMDB credit, prominent listing on DVD cover and poster, and (non-reimbursed) opportunity to travel and represent film at film screenings. OPEN THEATRE AUDITIONS for What We're Up Against by Theresa Rebeck September 6 & 7 at 6 p.m. Kent State University at Stark Fine Arts Theatre 6000 Frank Avenue NW North Canton, Ohio 44720 The Kent State University at Stark Theatre has announced open auditions for the first theatrical production of the season, What We're Up Against by Theresa Rebeck, and directed by Kent State Stark Associate Professor of Theatre and Theatre Director Brian Newberg. Auditions are open to everyone, including students and community persons. We encourage diversity in our casting. What We're Up Against features Eliza, an intelligent and impetuous female associate at a male-dominated architecture firm, who challenges boundaries and sexist rules in her dog-eat-dog profession. Watch as she takes a whack at outdated office politics to break through the glass ceiling, and rocks the architecture world to its core in this in-your-face dark comedy. Auditions will be held on September 6 and 7 at 6 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township. Roles are available for two women and three men. No children. Those auditioning may perform a prepared monologue, if they wish, and the director may also choose sides (selected scene excerpts) to perform. The production will be performed November 11 - 20 in the Kent State Stark Theatre. Rehearsals will begin September 12, and will occur five evenings a week until opening. Scripts are available for perusal for periods up to 24 hours from the Fine Arts secretary (330-244-5151), Monday through Friday, during business hours (8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). The campus will be closed on September 5, in observance of the holiday. Audition appointments are recommended, but not required. Scripts will also be available in the reserve area of the Stark Campus Library. The dastardly plot involves a fictional CVLT telethon, with an array of scheming theater executives, local notables, and con artists serving as the phone screeners. The titular "Blossomtini" is a popular cocktail with a recipe worth committing a crime over. Several area bars and restaurants will be featuring their own "Blossomtini" cocktails in honor of the event - if you try one, you'll be able to vote for your favorite at the event! The suspicious cast features Cleveland's own Jan Jones as "Joan Johns," along with CVLT regulars Kris Tesar, Michael Rogan, Eric Oswald, Don Bernardo, Brianna Arko, Elyse Mulvaney, Claire Mulvaney, and Emma Moughan.
