She is soon confronted and torn between the faith of her church and the love of her family. Baldwin who wrote the classic novel "Go Tell It On The Mountain" and numerous literary works was the subject of the Academy Award nominated "I Am Not Your Negro". Google ‘artificial intelligence’ and the seemingly innocuous but increasingly integral role technology plays in our daily lives.” According Kevin Kelly, the founding executive editor of Wired magazine, technology wants what life itself wants: Increasing opportunity, increasing emergence, increasing sentience, and increasing ubiquity. Jordan Harrison’s 2014 Pulitzer prize-nominated play “Marjorie Prime,” currently on stage at Dobama Theatre, is such a story. It offers us a not-too-distant future where technology’s opportunity, emergence, sentience, and ubiquity have been fully realized. The play centers on the notion that our memory of the past is the cornerstone of our consciousness, singularity and identity. Date: Sunday October 29th Time: 12-5 PM Place: The Historic Oak Room 5475 B Lake Road East Geneva-on-the-Lake OH 44041 Noble Art Entertainment is seeking actors/singers of all ages for it's 11th annual production of Charles Dickens "A Christmas Carol". This original interactive show has become a yearly tradition for many guests, regularly selling out most performance dates. Our heartwarming retelling of the classic holiday story includes a great deal of audience interaction. The actors carry their characters off the stage and into the audience as the dinner servers, literally surrounding the guests with the show. Strong character portrayals and the ability to interact and improvise with the audience is key. ALL roles are available including; Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley, The Ghosts of Christmas, The Cratchit family, the Feziwigs, Belle and many, many more. *Auditionees should prepare a 1 minute monologue of any style or period and a short A cappella song. Everyone will also be asked to read from prepared sides.* Please bring any possible rehearsal schedule conflicts*.* Rehearsals run: November 3rd - 30th Tuesdays 7-10PM Fridays 7-10PM Saturdays 12-5PM Tech week November 27-30, 7-10PM each night. Heights Arts is seeking a new Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate

Heights Arts has begun the process of selecting the Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate who will serve from April 2018 to March 2020. The term of Christine Howey, the current Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate, will end on March 31, 2018. Poets across the Northeast Ohio region are encouraged to apply. Candidates are not required to live in Cleveland Heights, but must demonstrate a strong connection to the city. Applications will be accepted at the Heights Arts website (www.heightsarts.org) from mid-October 2017 to December 31, 2017. Detailed information about the responsibilities of the Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate are available on the Heights Arts website. The HeightsWrites committee of Heights Arts will review applications and conduct interviews in January and February. A final selection will be made by March 2018.
