EXIT THE BODY by Fred Carmichael Directed by Dave Cotton Audition Dates and Times: Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2 pm Monday, February 13, 2017 at 7 pm Auditions will take place in the Stocker Arts Center's Cirigliano Studio Theatre on the campus of Lorain County Community College 1005 N. Abbe Road Elyria, OH 44070 Auditions are open to all LCCC Students, Faculty/Staff and Community Members. No AEA contracts available. Production Dates are April 27-29, 2017 8 pm performances Rehearsals commence on or around February 27, 2017 Synopsis: A mystery writer rents a New England house that is the rendezvous point for some jewel thieves. The focal point of the set is the closet which opens into a living room and a library. A body found in the closet promptly disappears only to be succeeded by another. The hunt for the jewels reaches a climax at two A.M. when four couples unknown to each other turn up to search. Not since the days of Mack Sennett has there been such a hilarious series of entrances and exits. What to Prepare: Monologues are welcome, but the focus of the auditions will be on cold readings of scenes from the script. Copies of the script are on reserve and available for perusal in the LCCC Bass Library. Please note that they cannot be checked out. The following roles are available. Nothing has been precast. LILLIAN SEYMOUR 35+ Designer of high end fashion for women; a classy lady but with an odd sense of humor. LYLE ROGERS 35+ Lillian’s new husband; good sport who puts up with more than he should. JENNY 20’s Simple, home-spun maid/cook; she has a big secret. RANDOLPH late 20’s Trying hard to be a classy crook, and not succeeding. HELEN O’TOOLE any age; A “down home” real estate agent with a secret. VERNON COOKLEY late 40’s/early 50’s; Sheriff; he’s a combination of Andy Taylor and Barney Fife. He is also the taxi driver, justice of the peace and sexton of the church PHILIP SMITH any age; a detective who spends most of the show suffering from amnesia. KATE BIXLEY 35+ Overflowing with wit and sarcasm, she is secretary to the mystery writer. She is a bachelorette on the prowl. CRANE HAMMOND 35+ Famous mystery writer; clever, charming, likable; she may be the only one with any sense. RICHARD HAMMOND 35+ Crane’s husband; a would be novelist who currently writes an advice column under the pen name of Dorothy Duckworth. He is only in the last act. The Cleveland Play House Apprenticeship Program is a dynamic and engaging opportunity for young professionals and future colleagues in the field. The apprenticeship introduces recently graduated college and post-graduate students to an intensive experience with a top-tier American theatre. Apprentices will work with individual departments and leading professionals in the field to gain practical experience and skills working in America's first professional regional theatre. Our central goal is to train future leaders who will transform the field. HBTI announces AUDITIONS for its summer productions of *Children of Eden* and *Side Show.* *Sean Grandillo *(TV: The Real O'Neal's, Scream, Law & Order: SVU; Broadway: Spring Awakening) had this to say about his time working with Fred Sternfeld and Bebe Weinberg Katz on *Children of Eden* while he was in high school... "*Children of Eden* was a turning point for me. As an artist, as a person… There's something about this piece and the family it creates that is very special. I came to the show a total novice in the theater, and I left with a confidence and a love for this art form that I never could have imagined. I was thrilled to hear Fred and Bebe are putting the show on again. They were the director and choreographer of the production that meant so much to me a little more than six years ago. My advice is, if you're on the fence, do it. This is the kind of show to do. The kind of show that KIDS are LUCKY to get to do. This is a full-time position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Contact existing and potential customers for sales of theatre and special application lighting systems, related equipment and services, by planning and organizing daily work schedule. * Work with system specifiers in the design and engineering field for assistance in lighting system design, utilizing products offered by Vincent Lighting Systems. * Create and present sales quotes for lighting projects and related equipment/services to customers. * Coordinate and provide information on sales efforts with project management and other internal staff, to ensure proper execution of order(s). * Establish, develop and maintain excellent business relationships with current and prospective customers, vendors and colleagues to create "customers for life". * Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, expense reports, and other necessary paperwork. * Resolve issues by investigating, developing solutions, make recommendations, and follow up with the customer and internal staff to ensure all issues have been resolved. * Create and maintain records pertaining to sales territory and customer sales. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending trainings, product demonstrations, tradeshows and departmental meetings. * Other duties as assigned and directed. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION: * Must have a BA or BFA in technical theatre or 3-5 years related experience. * Excellent customer service skills are essential. * Must have the ability to evaluate a customer's needs and provide appropriate solutions. * Must be able to identify, negotiate and close opportunities with profitable outcomes. * Excellent organizational and time management skills are a must. * Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal). * Good territory management and prospecting skills are a must. * A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows are required. * Must maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance. * Must have reliable transportation and a good driving record. * Prior technical sales experience and a theatre background is desired. Incorruptible (A Dark Comedy About the Dark Ages)Written by Michael Hollinger Directed by Tyson Douglas Rand Auditions dates/times: Tuesday & Wednesday, Feb. 14th & 15th at 7:30 p.m. Needed: 5 Males – 3 Females: Charles – the Abbot of Priseaux, age 50+ A gentle & often overwhelmed soul. Brother Martin – his second in command, age mid 30s to 50. A “Go-Getter” with ambitions. Brother Olf – a novice, age late 20s to early 30s – Big & a bit childlike. Brother Felix – another novice of similar age – a romantic with a few bars of singing. A Peasant Woman – from the village, age 40+ - Mother to Marie. Jack – a one eyed minstrel, age mid 20s to mid 30s – sings, dances, juggles – basic string instrument skills a plus. Marie – his wife… of sorts, age mid to late 20s – sings, dances – petite. Must be carried about like a rag doll. A LOT. Agatha – the Abbess of Bernay. Charles’ sister. age 50+ A formidable woman. Strong & competitive. Although the play takes place about 1250 A.D. in a French monastery, the language is contemporary without accents. The story: The Brothers of Saint Foy is a dwindling order. They work hard to care for their parish village but the relics (bones) of their patron saint have not worked a miracle in thirteen years. Their only income is from a “Pay to Pray” policy and no one in their village can afford to pay the penny! When the convent in a neighboring town claims to have acquired the relics of “The Real St. Foy” the pilgrims flock to pray for miracles and the battle begins! Toss in a one eyed Jester/con man, his seductive dancer “wife” and the promise of a visit from the Pope and… – Well, all SOMETHING breaks loose! This is a dark comedy that playfully examines how, both then and now, we often feel compelled to do the wrong thing for all the right reasons – and our only saving grace is… Grace itself. A farcical & physical romp. Show dates: May 12th through June 4th, 2017 – Thurs, Fri, & Sat. at 8:00 PM & Sun. at 2:00 PM Rehearsals to be determined based on actor availability but may begin as early as March 27th.CLAGUE PLAYHOUSE auditions begin at 7:30 pm.
