The fourth and FINAL round of auditions for the 2017 Great Lakes Medieval Faire will be held Saturday April 22nd at the Great Lakes Medieval Faire from 10am to 5pm. For our principal cast, we need four men preferably age 30+ to play our Knights Templar: -Richard Mallebeench, Master of the Templars in England -Gilbert de Lacy -Sir Roger St. Leger -Sir William de Harcourt We also need talented actors to portray our main villainous nobles the Earl Edmund of Lancaster and his wife Blanche of Artois, as well as their hired help; a chaotic neutral group of rogues and their leader. This year, our principal cast is based on people that actually existed (save for the rogues. They were just added for dramatic effect). Please research the character you are auditioning for, and tailor your audition piece appropriately. While the names of our leads are historically accurate, the age of the actor portraying them does not have to be. In addition to these named characters we also need to fill the following roles: 2 ladies maids to Lady Blanche 2 footmen to the Earl A Faerie princess 4+ elemental fae A mysterious Oracle A Court Jester Two Squires to the Knights 6 to 8 Rogues A sheriff to the village of Avaloch As well as, of course, a diverse and wide cast of villagers. *Auditions for Spotlights’ Summer Youth Musical: "Disaster!"* The 2017 Broadview Heights Spotlights' Summer Youth Production of *Disaster! *is the *Ohio Premiere* of the 2016 Broadway musical spoof of the disaster films of the 1970s, featuring well-known pop songs from that era. Auditions will be held on *Sunday, April 9 *and* Monday, April 10 *at *6:00 p.m.* Invited callbacks will be held, if necessary, on the evening of Wednesday, April 12 or by special arrangement. Rehearsals will begin the week of April 23. The show runs June 22 – July 2. The show will be directed by Tim Anderson and music directed by Ryan Bergeron. Performers (ages 10 to 20) are invited to audition for principle roles and the highly-featured ensemble. The show contains sexual innuendo and limited profanity. Those aged 10 – 20 who are auditioning should: - Plan to attend only one night of auditions. - Be somewhat familiar with the show, its themes, and music. - Prepare two 1-minute selections of contrasting songs (1 ballad, 1 up tempo), at least one of which should be a pop song from the 1970’s. Songs featured in the show are acceptable. - Bring sheet music in the correct keys, hole-punched in a three-ring binder. (Singers will not be permitted to sing *a cappella.*) - Bring a list of conflicts between April 3 and July 2 (including school concerts, lessons, practices, and games). A DARKLY HUMOROUS FABLE ABOUT A VERY ANGRY MAN IN A NATION OF VERY ANGRY PEOPLE HARM'S WAY BY MAC WELLMAN NOW ONSTAGE AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM THURS-SAT THRU APRIL 15 Harm’s Way, the darkly humorous fable of an angry man on a rampage through a fantastical wilderness, follows the exploits of very angry Santouche as he tries to make sense of his understanding of law and order in a nation of other very angry people. Filled with Wild West and circus sideshow imagery, the action doesn’t unfold in any specific time or place. But all the characters drink from the same poisoned well, which is definitely American. It might be anytime in the last 70 years, or even – not impossibly – in the next. Harm’s Way is directed by convergence-continuum’s Artistic Director, Clyde Simon, and features actors Wesley Allen, Robert Branch, Gideon Lorete, Joseph Milan, Michael Regnier, Beau Reinker, Brian Westerley, Hillary Wheelock, Carrie Williams and Monica Zach. This is the seventh Mac Wellman play presented by convergence-continuum, having previously produced Sincerity Forever, 7 Blowjobs, Cleveland, Whirligig, A Murder of Crows and The Hyacinth Macaw.
