Costume Designer/Costume Shop Supervisor Design two departmental theatre productions, two dance concerts, and assist costuming in senior thesis productions each year, as well as supervise student shop workers. Teach one course per year in either Costume Design, Costume Construction, or Stage Make-up. Effective August, 2017. This is a nine-month, part time salaried staff position that averages approximately 32 hours per week, leaving room for outside professional work. The position is eligible for limited benefits with stipend and travel funds available for one professional conference per year. Additional opportunity may be available for design assignments for Ohio Light Opera, the summer residential professional company of The College of Wooster. M.F.A. or M.A. required. Audition for PLAYground New Plays Workshop at Talespinner Children's Theatre

PLAYground is an exciting program, now in its second year, that showcases new works for children by Cleveland-area writers during this two-week intensive workshop in July of 2017. Writers (using local directors, and actors age 16 and up) will be given one week's rehearsal to showcase their works in true workshop fashion, book in hand, and one weekend to perform that workshop for the public, complete with audience talk-backs following performance. During the week, they are given full use of the TCT rehearsal space, stage, and access to puppets, props, and costumes. PLAYground gives Cleveland-area writers a chance to put their work up on its feet, to help provide development of ideas, and exposure to the public. Plays submitted to PLAYground may be considered for future, full-stage production by TCT. This month: Cat On a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee Williams In a plantation house, a family celebrates the sixty-fifth birthday of Big Daddy, as they sentimentally dub him. The mood is somber, despite the festivities, because a number of evils poison the gaiety: greed, sins of the past and desperate, clawing hopes for the future spar with one another as the knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. Maggie, Big Daddy's daughter-in-law, wants to give him the news that she's finally become pregnant by Big Daddy's favorite son, Brick, but Brick won't cooperate in Maggie's plans and prefers to stay in a mild alcoholic haze the entire length of his visit. Maggie has her own interests at heart in wanting to become pregnant, of course, but she also wants to make amends to Brick for an error in judgment that nearly cost her her marriage. Swarming around Maggie and Brick are their intrusive, conniving relatives, all eager to see Maggie put in her place and Brick tumbled from his position of most-beloved son. By evening's end, Maggie's ingenuity, fortitude and passion will set things right, and Brick's love for his father, never before expressed, will retrieve him from his path of destruction and return him, helplessly, to Maggie's loving arms. Actor Needed for "Visiting Mr. Green" at OCTA Chagrin Valley Little Theatre's acclaimed production of "Visiting Mr. Green," written by Jeff Baron and directed by Carol Jaffee Pribble, has been selected to represent the theatre at this year's Ohio Community Theatre Association events. Unfortunately, the actor who played "Ross" in the production is unavailable to attend due to schedule conflicts and an alternate is being sought.
