Lawrence School is seeking a choreographer for it's April 19-22nd production of Anything Goes. Lawrence School is an independent school in Sagamore Hills, Ohio (south of Bedford) serving students with mild-moderate learning differences. While Lawrence School has been putting on full musical productions for 10 years this will be our first experience with tap. We are seeking a patient, compassionate, and creative choreographer to help students shine even with the basics of tap. Rehearsals begin between Feb 5 and 12 and will take place on weekdays from 3:30 - 5:30 and on mutually beneficial times during the weekend. The schedule will be based around student, space, and choreographer availability. Compensation for this production is typical for a K-12 educational production. Dance! Listen! Enjoy! Everyone is welcome to join us to at the Slovenian Swing dance on Saturday, January 27th at the Slovenian Workmen's Home on Waterloo. The Waterloo Ballroom at the Slovenian Workmen's Home is located in the very artsy and lively Collinwood neighborhood. The address is 15335 Waterloo Rd, Cleveland, Ohio 44110. Two parking lots right next to the hall. 8-9 Jitterbug dance lesson for all levels 9-12 Blue Lunch kicks off an awesome night of dance music. This review of their CD will give you a great idea of what Blue Lunch is going to deliver to us this Saturday. Check 'em out! http://www.bluelunch.com/ The cost is $12 per person, $10 for students and seniors with a valid ID & $5 for first-timers. No need to purchase tickets in advance. No need to bring a dance partner as we rotate partners during the lesson. If you would prefer not to rotate, that is fine too. We have some of the biggest swing dances in the area with over 150 people attending each month. Attendees have a variety of dance experience (including none) and come from all walks of life and ages. You will not need to bring a dance partner. We rotate partners during the dance lesson. How often do you get to meet 50-100 new people in under an hour? We provide the highest quality swing dance instruction from some of the nicest, most patient people you will ever meet. Our staff includes regional, national and international swing dance competitors (and winners) in multiple swing dance forms. We welcome anyone to join us who has an interest in dance, music, socializing and fun. We don't care what your physical ability or size is, where you are in life, where you are on the spectrum of sexual or gender orientation, what color or creed, or non-creed, you are. As we approach our 20th Anniversary season (Summer 2018), Mercury Theatre Company is expanding its development and marketing teams, and is looking for passionate communicators and relationship-builders. Position Title: Administrative Intern Description: · One Administrative Intern will learn by working with staff in the MTC office February 5 through May 1, 2018. This will include hands-on learning opportunities in customer service, communication, schedule and database management, and general program support. · The Administrative Intern will work very closely with the Managing Director and the Marketing intern, while being supervised by the Artistic Director. This internship is ideal for those with an interest in business management and/or arts administration. Time commitment: 10-20hrs/week, Monday –Friday. Once hired will work with your schedule. Some evenings and weekends for intern meetings, and hands on experience in front of house for our productions. February 5 through May 1, 2018. Start date is flexible, but must be no later than February 12. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of two years of college or demonstrate equivalent experience. Administrative and customer service experience is required. Stipend: $250.00 (Received at end of internship.) LCCC Hosts Civic Jazz Band Concert Lorain County Community College's division of arts and humanities will hold a Civic Jazz Band Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 3 at the Stocker Arts Center in the Hoke Theatre. The concert features the Lorain County All Star Jazz band, which is made up of area high school students. It's directed by Jeff Meyers and features guest artist Mike Tomaro.
