Join Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) as we travel to the acclaimed Detroit Institute of Art to enjoy the museum as well as the special exhibit “Monet:Framing Life” on February 25, 2018. This intimate exhibition focuses on the DIA’s only painting by Claude Monet — "Rounded Flower Bed" (*Corbeille de fleurs*), formerly known as "Gladioli" and recently retitled based on new research. Monet painted this work while living in the Paris suburb of Argenteuil between late 1871 and early 1878. His time in Argenteuil was especially productive, for it was there that he and fellow avant-garde painters formed the Impressionists. Experience the DIA’s painting together with 10 other Argenteuil paintings by Monet and fellow impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and discover the story behind the creation of "Rounded Flower Bed" (*Corbeille de fleurs)* and how it fits into the history of Monet’s work and the Impressionist movement. Hop on the bus at Buehler’s River Styx in Medina at 7 am, with a pick up at Apple Grocery Store at 209 E. Herrick in Wellington at 7:30 am. Enjoy muffins and mimosas as we travel to Detroit. Upon arrival at 10 am, there will be a 30-minute introductory lecture, followed by entrance into the Monet Exhibit. Enjoy exploring the rest of the museum on your own until we depart at 3 pm. The productions for the summer are "Harvey", "My Fair Lady", "Evita" and "Vincent" as well as a youth production of "Seussical". Auditions run two weekends, Mar. 3 and 4 for the youth production "Seussical" and Mar. 24 and Mar. 25 for "Harvey", "My Fair Lady" and "Evita". "Vincent" has been precast. Dr. Seuss' best-loved characters come together in this musical saga suitable for all ages. Multiple lead, supporting, and ensemble roles are available for all genders for youth ages 7 to 19. Auditions for "Seussical" are Saturday, Mar. 3, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, Mar. 4, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Actors auditioning should prepare to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song from memory. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist in a binder. No pre-recorded accompaniment or CD tracks. No monologue need be prepared as actors will read sides from the script. Actors should dress business casual (jeans are acceptable, no sweatpants). "Harvey" a comedy by Mary Chase, runs from June 1 through June 16. The production is directed by Ann Hedger. There are nine roles available for men, ages 18 to 60, and five roles available for women, ages 17 to 55. When Elwood P. Dowd starts to introduce his invisible friend, Harvey, a six-and-a-half-foot rabbit, to party guests, his sister, Veta, has seen as much of his eccentric behavior as she can tolerate. The tables get turned, however, when she tries to commit him to a sanitarium. Auditions for "Harvey" are Saturday, Mar. 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. Actors will read from the script and do not need to prepare a monologue. "My Fair Lady" is the 1956 Broadway hit musical with music by Frederick Loewe and book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner. The unrefined cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle is transformed into a high-society lady through the tutelage of linguist Professor Henry Higgins. Eliza has a mind of her own, however, and things don't go quite as planned. Show dates are June 22 through July 14. The show is directed by Brint Learned with musical direction by Danielle Jones and choreography by Heather Felden. "Evita", with music and lyrics by Time Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, runs Aug. 3 through Aug. 18. "Evita" follows Eva Duarte on her journey from a poor illegitimate child in mid-20th century Argentina to her meteoric rise to sainthood as Eva Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America. This Tony Award-winning show is one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's most recognizable musicals. Auditions for "My Fair Lady and" and "Evita" are 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Mar.24, and 1:30 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 25. East Cleveland Theater is hosting auditions for “Exit the Body”, by Fred Carmichael. *Director: Christopher Bizub* *Synopsis:* A mystery writer rents a New England house that is the rendezvous point for some jewel thieves. The focal point of the set is the closet which opens into a living room and a library. A body found in the closet promptly disappears only to be succeeded by another. The hunt for the jewels reaches a climax at two A.M. when four couples unknown to each other turn up to search. Not since the days of Mack Sennett has there been such an hilarious series of entrances and exits. *The Roles:* *Crane Hammond**: *Female, 30s to 50s A successful mystery writer, she is bright, gay, witty and an altogether likeable person. *Kate Bixley**: *Female, 30s to 50s Crane Hammond's secretary, she has an irrepressible sense of humor that often borders on the sarcastic, but she doesn't really mean it. *Helen O’Toole**: *Female, 30s to 40s A very efficient real estate saleswoman, perhaps a trifle too folksy and straight-laced, but she means well. *Lillian Seymour**: *Female, 30s to 50s A top-flight fashion designer. *Jenny**: *Female, 20s to 30s Young country girl, rather loud, but the epitome of innocence. *Lyle Rogers**: *Male, 30s to 50s Attractive trophy husband of Lillian Seymour. *Vernon Cookley**: *Male, 30s to 60s A middle-aged New Englander, who has never traveled more than ten miles outside his hometown, emotionless and leery of everyone and everything. *Randolph**: *Male, 20s to 30s An inept small time crook, and proud of it. *Philip Smith**: *Male, 30s to 50s A nice, honest-looking guy with amnesia. *Richard Hammond**: *Male, 30s to 60s Crane's husband, average businessman type. *Audition Dates:* Sunday, February 11, from 7 to 10pm. **************************************************FrightTeck Pictures and Cinevid Productions are teaming up to produce an Irish Fantasy Horror film called American Leprechaun. We are in need of Cast and Crew. This is a low budget production and everyone will receive copy and credit. Along with crew we need a costume designer for dressing an evil leprechaun, a fairy, and a few trolls. Here is the character breakdown for the roles we need to fill: Fiona: A girl between 20 and 26, beautiful and fit, to play the film's leading lady. She's fun-loving and quirky and one of the few who survive. Tara: Fiona's older sister between 22 and 28 who's a bit jaded, almost goth. Mason: A wannabe rocker, early 20's, with long hair and a bad attitude. Colleen: A young singer, 15-18, fairly innocent, but part of Mason's band. Murphy: A little girl between 8 and 10 who encounters the Sluagh (an evil manifestation of a leprechaun) and lives to tell the tale.
