Ushers are responsible for assisting the House Manager to create a safe and pleasant experience for all Ensemble patrons. - Ushers arrive ONE HOUR before showtime and remain throughout the entire performance. - BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, ushers will attend mandatory orientation with the House Manager on duty, prepare show programs, welcome patrons to the theater, tear tickets, distribute play programs, and assist patrons with any seating issues. - DURING INTERMISSION, ushers direct audience members to the lobby and/or restrooms and keep patrons off the stage. - AFTER THE PERFORMANCE, ushers straighten the house, including collection of show programs and trash left behind by patrons. Personality/Attire Requirements Ushers must be able to professionally and cheerfully represent the Ensemble to the public. The attire requested for your ushering duties is business casual. Ushers should also have a passion for theater and be at least 16 years of age. When To Arrive Ushers are scheduled to arrive one hour before showtime. You are providing a critical service to our patrons and staff, so please arrive on time, which at Ensemble is one hour before the curtain of the performance you are ushering for. "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" Continues Its Successful Run this Weekend at Western Reserve Playhouse

“One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.” Western Reserve Playhouse presents the searing drama One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Dale Wasserman, based on the book by Ken Kesey. The show will run during Mental Health Awareness Month, May 18-26. As part of their commitment to community awareness, WRP is partnering with Portage Path Behavioral Health to bring you this show. In doing so, WRP & PPBH will be holding talkbacks after the performances on May 20th and 25th. These talkbacks will include the ability to talk with the cast and director, as well as different clinicians who specialize in mental illness. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest is the story of McMurphy, a charming rogue who contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution rather than in a prison. While there, he clashes with Head Nurse Ratched, who has no time for his nonsense. McMurphy quickly takes over the yard and accomplishes what the medical profession has been unable to do for years: He leads others out of introversion, stages a revolt so that they can see the World Series on television and arranges a rollicking midnight party with liquor and women. After a tragic event occurs, Ratched and McMurphy go head-to-head – and only one of them will win this battle. Co-Artistic Director Brian Westerley directs this stunning play. Award-winning actress April Deming is the formidable Nurse Ratched, while newcomer to WRP Ryan Rasnick tackles McMurphy. The other patients are played by Joe Turner, Andrew Gordon, Dennis Burby, Craig Webb, Marc Dusini & Irv Korman. Rounding out the cast are Abby Morris, Vince Sarowatz, Bradley Haramis, David Wagar, Mikhayla Wilkins and Annette Fernandez. The show contains adult language and themes. Brooks Directed by Karen Rose Auditions will be held on Sunday, June 3 & Monday, June 4 starting at 6PM Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Showtune Showoff Fundraiser!

Join us Monday May 14 at Coach House Theatre from 7-10 pm for our first Showtune Showoff Fundraising event. Bring your favorite Showtune sheet music or use ours. We have over 30 books and anthologies, including kids and teens, to choose from. Our fabulous accompanist is ready to play whatever Broadway melody you feel like belting out. Need to try out a new audition piece, this is the perfect place for it. Just want to come listen, that’s ok too. We realize not everyone likes to sing but almost everyone likes a Showtune! Your $10 admission includes 2 non alcoholic drink tickets and 1 ticket to our “Sing for Free” raffle good for a future event. If you would like to sing, it’s $2 per person, per song. If you just want to listen, your admission covers you. You can always decide to sing at any time throughout the evening. (There will also be some sing-a-long songs for all.) Concessions will be available for purchase, bring your ID if you want wine. Coach House Theatre will hold Showtune Showoff every 2nd Monday of the month through 2018.
