Ohioan Emma Gatewood was the first woman to solo thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in 1955 at the age of 67 after raising 11 children and surviving domestic abuse. LCCC Civic Chorale Invites New Members to Join Lorain County Community College's Civic Chorale welcomes new members to the first rehearsal of fall semester from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 10 at Stocker Arts Center in room 140. The Civic Chorale is comprised of advanced high school students through senior citizens. Prior experience is preferred. College credit is available. The 40th Annual Civic Chorale Holiday Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 1 in the Stocker Arts Center's Hoke Theatre. The Civic Chorale and Civic Orchestra will perform "Magnificat" by John Rutter along with popular selections from Handel's "Messiah" and traditional holiday favorites. To Actors and Actresses in the N.E. Ohio Area: Good morning. My name is Elissa Tennant, and I work as a Department Assistant for a group of writing professors at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. We are looking for actors and actresses in the 30-40 year old age range to play someone who is changing jobs and has an issue with a non-compete clause with his/her old company. In this setting, you’ll be working with an adjunct professor and presenting to first-year law students as a “client/witness”. The professors are writing a script, and while I do not have it from them yet, I do need to start finding interested people. All classes take place at the law school at 11075 East Boulevard/Cleveland, OH 44106. The pay rate is $27.50 per hour, and you would have four sessions throughout the semester. These class sessions run from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. typically. If the class is a little larger, there’s a possibility that they may go until 8 p.m. We’re looking for someone who could commit to all four dates for one professor if possible.
