Rehearsals will be Monday – Friday, 5:00-8:30 pm. Please note there will be a few Saturday rehearsals for principal characters only. You will not be called every day, only when you are needed to work. Attendance at ALL tech week rehearsals, sitzprobe on October 13 (where the orchestra and cast will play and sing through the show) , as well as all performances, is mandatory. Our classes take place on weekday afternoons between 2:30 -- 7:30 pm. If you have something close to the background and skills, we would be happy to review your resume and talk with you further: -- Music degree from accredited school: bachelor's degree (or higher) in music performance or music education -- Performance-level musicianship: strong, solid command of your instrument -- Minimum two years of on-the-job experience teaching violin to private students -- Group violin class teaching experience is a plus -- Teaching ability on viola and cello also a plus -- Comfortable and effective working with children within the grade 1 through 12 age range and also adults -- Experience teaching in inner city environments or working with underserved populations is a huge plus -- Very skilled at using positive motivation to inspire students -- holding them to high standards of performance and practice habits but making the learning experience as enjoyable as possible -- Commitment to Greater Cleveland -- ideally planning to stay here for the next two years -- Hours: Though some students 60-minute lessons, our normal time frame is 30 minutes. -- Schedule: We offer lessons Monday through Thursday from 2:30 pm through 7:30 pm. CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM HOLDING AUDITIONS SUN, DEC 15 FOR _INSURRECTION: HOLDING HISTORY _ BY ROBERT O’HARA, DIRECTED BY INDIA NICOLE BURTON _ _ _INSURRECTION: HOLDING HISTORY _IS A DARK COMEDY THAT IS PROVOCATIVE, WITTY AND OUTRAGEOUS BY THE AUTHOR OF _BOOTYCANDY, BARBECUE _AND _Antebellum._ ____ _Insurrection _has been described as _The Wizard of Oz_ meets _Roots_. As Ron struggles to finish his dissertation on Nat Turner’s rebellion,TJ (Ron’s 189-year-old great-great grandfather) takes Ron on a journey back in time to 1831, the year Nat Turner led his infamous rebellion in South Hampton County, Virginia. Mutha Wit accompanies them on this mystical journey as she translates for TJ, who can neither speak nor move anything but his left eye and the middle toe of his right foot. When they arrive in the deep, deep, dark South, the characters take on one of the most appalling times in history. They see outrageous incidents unfold and come to realizations that may or may not satisfy them on why they traveled back in time in the first place. _Insurrection _is a work unafraid to utterly confound most traditional narrative assumptions, and in a surreal version of history also manages to address contemporary police violence against African-Americans, to explore who has the right to tell whose story, to look critically at attitudes toward sexuality, gender and intolerance, and to explore how different generations adhere to different rules.
