Twin Masks Performing Arts Center (TMPAC), located at 9076 Church Street, is proud to announce auditions for FIRST DATE. Auditions will be on Sunday, April 7 from 6-8pm and also on Monday, April 8 from 7-9pm, Callbacks will be on Monday, April 15 from 7-9pm. Rehearsals will begin in June 2019, Performance dates are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm, August 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17, 2019. The 2012 musical First Date takes the audience through the first meeting of Casey and Aaron, two 30-ish New York City singles set up by friends and family. The two have nothing in common: Aaron is a conservative banker, Jewish, and looking for a meaningful relationship, while Casey is an artist, a shiksa, and a little too funky for Wall Street. With the influences of their friends and family (played out in their imaginations) as well as the effects of social media (Google, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube personified), this first date seems to be doomed. But with the help of a meddling but well-meaning waiter, Casey and Aaron might make a connection after all. With a contemporary rock score, First Date gleefully pokes fun at the mishaps and mistakes of blind dates and gives hope that there could be that one perfect moment. Marc C. Howard, Director D. Theatre in the Circle needs pianist for "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."

Theatre in the Circle will need a pianist on Saturdays between the hours of 12-4 and Sundays between the hours of 2-6 beginning on April 6, 2019, for our upcoming production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” From Tuesday, April 30 to Friday, May 3, rehearsals will be nightly 6:30-10:30 pm. ( No rehearsal on Easter. You would not be needed all of those times. In some cases we could schedule according to your availability.) Exquisite ‘Lady Day’ takes the Beck Center stage Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Just a few months ago, Nicole Sumlin was performing her musical revue “Sing It All” – a personal journey of her life as a performer that traces her roots in gospel and jazz, her training in the classics, and her experience in musical theater. It was just her, a microphone and some live musical accompaniment on stage at the Bop Stop, a near west side jazz venue. And not long ago she performed in Sheldon Epps’ “Blues in the Night,” a drama-revue hybrid staged by Karamu House, where her character’s story was told through the songs of blues luminaries Bessie Smith (“Reckless Blues”) and Ann Ronell (“Willow Weep for Me”).
