On Wednesday, April 17th, Near West Theatre is kicking off our brand new Detroit Shoreway Youth Chorus, for kids ages 8-14. The program will focus on vocal performance, and will also integrate music literacy, movement, and percussion. Kids will sing new music as well as traditional with a fresh, Near West Theatre approach. As with all NWT programs, participation in the Detroit Shoreway Youth Chorus is free. Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre announces auditions for CHARLOTTE'S WEB Located at 324 Cleveland Ave. NW Canton, Ohio 44702 SYNOPSIS: All the enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the "miracle" of her web in which she writes, "Some pig." It's the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will give your actors a great opportunity and your audience an evening of enchantment. Season Auditions for SEAT OF THE PANTS

Seat of the Pants Productions <https://www.facebook.com/seatofthepants/?__tn__=K-R&eid=ARBOCOab59EyOc7fcnr…> is excited to invite actors to audition for our 2019-2020 season, The Kindness of Strangers, four plays that all pose questions about how we interact with and what obligations we have to the stranger, foreigner, alien, or person who is different in our midst. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 11th, from 2-5 PM, and Monday, May 13th, from 7-10 PM, at Akron Christian Reformed Church, 50 Marshall Avenue in Akron, OH. Those interested in auditioning should prepare two contrasting monologues, one comic and one dramatic, totaling no more than 3 minutes. You should also bring a single copy of your resume and headshot, along with a calendar to address known conflicts. Roles are available for men aged 20s-60s. Roles are available for females aged 20s-70s. Also looking for one young man (15-17), one girl (12-14) and a young boy (8-10).
