Auditions for Hidden in this Picture by Aaron Sorkin Directed by Chuck Bonakoski *Who*-Spring Hill Players *When*-April 23rd and 24th from 6pm-8pm *Where*-Spring Hill Historic Home 1401 Springhill Ln NE Massillon Ohio 44646 *How*- Please show up between the hours of 6pm and 8pm on the listed nights no appointment required. If you are unavailable those nights but would be interested in auditioning please reach out to the director Chuck Bonakoski a cbonakoski(a)gmail.com before April 24th in order to set up an accommodation. *What to Prepare*- Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Please bring a resume and current headshot if available. *The story*- The plot concerns Robert and Jeff, two old friends who are taking their theater partnership (Jeff writes the plays, Robert directs them) to the big screen in their first film. They've saved filming the final and most important scene of their movie for last; a complicated outdoor sequence involving hundreds of extras portraying disillusioned marines jogging at sunset. All is going seemingly well, until suddenly yet slowly, three cows walk directly into the shot. In response to this, some colorful language is exchanged. After some deep contemplation of whether or not one could feasibly find cows on a marine compound, let alone in Guam at all, Robert has somewhat of a mental breakdown as the sun continues to set "seemingly faster than it's ever set before". This causes Robert and Jeff to question their work, their relationship, the artistic health of contemporary film-making, and the ethics of shooting cows with firearms. The other two roles are a hard-nosed manager (Reuben) and a geeky production assistant (Craig). *Misc Information-*All four parts will be cast from the available audition pool and will be considered open through the audition process. The rehearsal process will begin Monday May 6th and will consist of 3 rehearsals a week through the production. Production dates are May 31st and June 2nd at 7pm and June 3rd at 3pm. All parts are on a volunteer basis and will be unpaid. CLEVELAND OPERA THEATER is looking for *load in crew* for our production. Some theater work experience is preferred. Load in is *Thursday, Apr. 18* from *10:00 AM - 10:00 PM* at the Maltz Performing Arts Center, 1855 Ansel Road (Chester at E. 105) in University Circle. Parking is free. There may also be a 4 hour call on Friday, Apr. 19, but this is tentative for now. *Fee* is $15/ hr. *Ideal* is being available for the entire call. *But* if you are available for part of the time, that may still work out. This film recounts Jackie’s life from childhood days to his football college career , his military service, his minor league career and through his 1949 season with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The film stars Jackie Robinson as himself, Ruby Dee as Rachel Robinson and Minor Watson as Branch Rickey and a cast of other famous faces from the films of the time. Review of Tiny Houses at The Cleveland Play House

Ever want to run away? Leave city stress behind? Chelsea Marcantel’s comic new play, *Tiny Houses,* at the Cleveland Play House, shows one witty take on this impulse in a perfectly paced production directed by Laura Kepley. The set, constructed while we watch in the Outcalt Theatre, consists of a vacant lot plus a trailer big enough to support a small house. During the course of the play, the actors (and their assistants) assemble a real tiny house. This solves a familiar challenge playwrights face — what to have their characters doing while they deliver the dialogue and actions that really run the story. Marcantel has come up with one perfect solution, at least in the hands of Cleveland Play House technical directors Devin Gallo and Liam Roth; carpenters Cayla DeStefano, Andy Rowland, and Kaleb Yandrick; and scenic artists Brendan Kelly, Jennifer Hitmar Shankland. She has combined the two degrees and worked as a teaching artist for outreach programming for Attack Theatre and Dancing Wheels Company and School. Rebecca has performed with Marcia Custer, Kathy Diehl, Amanda Tarr Dance Company, The Movement Project, MegLouise Dance, and Carmen Caceres. Her work has been selected for presentation most recently at SPACES Art Gallery, Cleveland Dance Fest, dotdotdot, and has been commissioned by The Movement Project. Rebecca has taught various masterclasses including classes as a guest artist at Slippery Rock University, Cleveland Dance Fest, and The Movement Project’s 2016 Winter Intensive. She has also worked as a Production Manager for Heidi Latsky Dance and IDACO Dance Festival. Rebecca is currently the Education and Community Engagement Coordinator for GroundWorks Dance Theater and an instructor at Beck Center for the Arts. She views her work with dance as a vehicle for change, awareness, education, protest, and acceptance.
