CLEVELAND OPERA THEATER is looking for *load in crew* for our production. Some theater work experience is preferred. Load in is *Thursday, Apr. 18* from *10:00 AM - 10:00 PM* at the Maltz Performing Arts Center, 1855 Ansel Road (Chester at E. 105) in University Circle. Parking is free. There may also be a 4 hour call on Friday, Apr. 19, but this is tentative for now. *Fee* is $15/ hr. Ideal is being available for the entire call. Landon’s father is a CEO of a major Company, He gives Landon a gift of controlling the drug arena of cleveland's west side. Landon now in a lead position has a unconventional connection to EZRA, Will he keep it together or will his heart take over yet again? After a intense and scary party Landon saves Ezra from a stampede of fleeing people. Ever since then Landon continues to finds ways to stay close and rotate around the world of Ezra until the moment when he eventually melts into the only one who truly loves him. This is love story of little words. Jamell “Iggy Saint” Sigh POC Male Late/Early 20s -- The new kid on the block. Jamell is the Up and coming dealer on cleveland's west side. Him and his gang are a threat to the established gang led by Landon (Tooth). Is he in over his head? Sometimes oblivious to surroundings he finds himself in a heated battle of who's drugs are better. Iggy is romantically Involved with Indy. Indy, who is known as a Vixen. She seems a little shady. What could she be up to? Would Jamell the “Drug Jock of Cleveland” win this battle or are the cards stacked against him? Amonn Brothers POC Male Late/ Early 20s -- Known as the Heartbreaker, Amonn is at a crossroads. The long lasting friendship with Ezra maybe over. After Locking lips with Ezra one dark night, Amonn Uses the Friendship as a gateway to explore his sexuality by projecting his sexual aggression onto the only true friend he has had in a while. His masculinity is in question, but only by him. Will Amonn come out of the suppression and make a new life for himself? What happens when he finds out about Ezra and this Mystery guy Tooth? Detective. Oliver Vance POC Male Late 30s -- A sly overzealous detective wanting to solve the big drug case. This Character is cut and dry. He’s an off campus cop who is in a relationship with a mistress, could she be his downfall? Drugs have taking over cleveland’s west side, and it’s up to Oliver to make this wrong a right, but what happens when he becomes too close to the case. Clive Roberts Black Male Late 30s Businessman Clive is the CEO of a metal manufacturing company. Clive is blinded by all things money, He is soon to retire, leaving his only son to take over his job. Clive gives a heavy portion of drug distribution to Landon. “If you can’t handle some junkies, How can you handle a my millions?” A money hungry Clive will soon meet another side of Landon. WHAT - Join us for a fun evening of swing music and swing dancing 8 - 9 pm Beginner-friendly Jitterbug dance lesson with instructors from Get Hep Swing 9 pm - 12 am Live music provided by Akron based Gypsy Jazz Band - Moustache Yourself WHERE - The Lakewood Masonic Temple is located at 15300 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio. There is a large parking lot behind the building. Enter through the front doors. BAND - One of my favorite styles of swing music, Gypsy Jazz with Moustache Yourself Gypsy jazz, also known as gypsy swing, hot club jazz, or by the French name, "jazz manouche” is a style of jazz music made famous by guitarist Django Reinhardt in the 1930s. It’s infectious rhythm and exotic but familiar melodies will capture your soul and transport you to a different time and place. Band members Jeremy Jones (guitar), Brent Hamker (guitar), Brad Wagner (clarinet and sax), and Matthew DeRubertis (acoustic bass) are on a mission to incorporate the entire history of gypsy jazz into an eclectic mix of songs from ranging from the style’s beginnings to present day, which includes originals written by members. The Band is: Jeremy Jones: Guitar Brent Hamker: Guitar Brad Wagner: Clarinet Matthew DeRubertis: Bass What is Gypsy Jazz? As much as a style of music can be created by one person, Gypsy Jazz was created by one man: Django Reinhardt. Other people played roles in the formation of this style and it continues to evolve today, but Django's influence is the most celebrated. Django was a Gypsy (Romany), and a guitar player of unusual talents despite a serious handicap on his left hand. Gypsy Jazz centers around the guitar; both rhythm and lead, although the violin plays an important role in many Gypsy Jazz groups https://moustacheyourself.wixsite.com/moustacheyourself WHEN - Dance lesson from 8 - 9 pm Live and DJ music from 9 pm - 12 am ATTIRE - Wear what makes you feel good! WHO MAY ATTEND? - You do not need to bring a dance partner but you may be dancing with lots of different people during the lesson and while the band plays, if you like. If you want to only dance with the person you bring with you, that is fine too. You do not need previous dance experience. We do hope you bring a positive and open mind and attitude. We welcome anyone to join us who has an interest in dance, music, socializing and fun. We don't care what your physical ability or size is, where you are in life, where you are on the spectrum of sexual or gender orientation, what color or creed, or non-creed, you are.
