AUDITIONS for suspense thriller "The Uninvited" by Tim Kelly are to be held at The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County in Dover. Audition Dates: Sunday, June 30th, 2019 at 7pm Monday, July 1st, 2019 at 7pm * No reservations are required* Preparation: Those auditioning are asked to prepare a one-minute dramatic monologue. Auditions will also consist of readings from the script. Performances: Thursday-Sunday, August 15th - 25th, 2019 Evening performances begin at 7:30pm, Sunday matinees begin at 2:30pm Rehearsals: Sunday–Thursday, July 7th - August 14th, 2019 Synopsis: The plot revolves around a brother and sister, who, eager for a quieter lifestyle, leave London to purchase an abandoned home along a cliffside in Western England. It soon becomes apparent that they are not living there alone. Rumor has it that it may be the beautiful Mary Meredith, whose mysterious death occurred on the property 15 years prior. The owners soon realize that the ghost is not only real, but quite dangerous, and the key to solving the mystery is right in front of them. The Addams Family At Near West Theatre Fall Youth Production, Ages 9 - 15 Show Run: Sep 20 - Oct 6 Performances: Sep 20, 21, 27, 28, 29, Oct 3, 4, 5, 6 Auditions: June 27, 28, 29, 6 - 9pm ABOUT THE SHOW In the kooky, upside-down world of the Addams Family, nothing is ever what is to be expected or adored, nonetheless, this quirky family still has to deal with many of the same challenges faced by any other family, and the spookiest nightmare faced by every family creates this ruckus of a musical: the Addams kids are growing up. The Addams's have lived by their unique values for hundreds of years and Gomez and Morticia, the patriarch and matriarch of the clan, would be only too happy to continue living that way. Their dark, macabre, beloved daughter Wednesday, however, is ready for a life of her own. She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet, smart boy from a normal, respectable Ohio family - the most un-Addams sounding person one could be! And to make matters worse, she has invited the Beinekes to their home for dinner. In one fateful, hilarious night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they've managed to avoid for generations: change. Review of "Mamma Mia!" at Mercury

Mercury offers an infectious but undistinguished ‘Mamma Mia!’ Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal The question to ask theatergoers these days is not “have you seen ‘Mamma Mia!” but “how many times?” The ABBA-based jukebox musical was performed on 5,773 occasions on Broadway between 2001 and 2015, has reached over 60 million people through national and international tours that stopped six times at Playhouse Square, and is popping up everywhere on professional and community stages now that the amateur licensing rights have been released. Three local productions of “Mamma Mia!” will be playing this weekend, including this one by the Mercury Theatre Company with director Pierre-Jacques Brault and musical director Eddie Carney at the helm. In truth, this paper-thin storyline is merely a vehicle to string together 26 of Abba’s caffeinated and highly synthesized ‘70’s disco tunes, which often erupt with very little if any provocation. But the songs are remarkably infectious, the characters who sing them are simply drawn and very endearing, and the romantic moral at the end of the story – that true love comes but once in a lifetime – brings back fans for multiple viewings. What has proven elusive in most of the productions of this lightweight entertainment that I’ve experienced is heart – a quality birthed by talent, onstage chemistry and artistic vision that is more than the sum of the formulaic parts found in Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus’ score and Catherine Johnson’s script. "Musings of a Singing Mother" A two woman classical cabaret featuring Anna E. White, soprano, and Katie Fowler, mezzo-soprano, telling the story of their lives as mothers and classical vocalists. Saturday, June 29th, 7:30pm Medina United Methodist Church Saturday, July 27th, 7:30pm Aurora School of Music Join Katie and Anna as they share their journey of singing with children and how it has changed and affected their lives. The show, although filled with classical art songs, arias, and duets, has an informal cabaret style feel (suitable for families) that includes anecdotes, props, and musings about their children. Katie and Anna share a timeless tale of motherhood with their unique perspective as classical artists; some of it hilarious, some moving, and all relatable. Including works by Schumann, Britten, Heggie, Mozart, Delibes, Whitacre, and Verdi.
