At The Fine Arts Association is hosting a six week "Theatre Arts Camp"(grades 3-12) from June 17th - July 26th, 2019 Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Performance dates: July 26th and 27th, 2019 at 7:30 pm and July 27th and 28th at 2:00 pm. Get ready to "walk on sunshine" this summer as you explore the music, dances and artists that inspired the totally TUBULAR 1980's with this year's camp theme We Got the Beat! Every year, more than 75 area students join FAA for this unique musical theatre experience! This fun, interactive camp engages campers in the theatrical aspects of music, dance, theatre and visual arts. Classes and rehearsals are designed as lessons in acting methods, dance techniques/composition, and voice/music skills. Camp culminates with a fully staged ticketed production the final weekend of camp with the script and songs tailored especially for the talents of the participating campers. Camp tuition includes two (2) comp ticket vouchers for choice of one culminating performance. Each camper also receives a special 2019 Camp T-shirt (cost included in camp fee). Campers should bring lunch (no nut-based foods, please) and water bottle each day. STARTING NEXT WEEK: SUMMER THEATER CAMPS, AND CLASSES AT BECK CENTER Beck Center for the Arts' Theater Department kicks off our summer session of theater camps on Monday, June 10! We've got camps for ages 7-19, including focuses in improv, acting and musical theater. In addition, our early childhood theater and adult acting and improv classes start the week of June 10. Theater Camps: Junior Theater Camp (Ages 7-12) Session 1 #6895 June 10-28 June 11-29; Monday-Friday; 3 weeks; 12:30-2:30 pm*; $270 Performances: June 28 at 2:30 & 6:30 pm Our Junior Theater Camp is designed for all students, whether or not they have prior performance experience. Campers are broken into smaller groups based on age and work with theater professionals, learning about acting, singing, and dancing while rehearsing their own original show. Campers present this show - featuring acting scenes and musical numbers - twice for family and friends on the last day of camp in our Music & Dance Building Recital Hall. Cleveland Dance Project's Season 5 Choreographer Applications are now open! We are seeking choreographers of all styles to apply to choreograph for our Season 5 Showcase. CDP is the area's largest dance, choreography and performance outlet for dancers (18+) who want to continue performing and/or choreographing into their adult life in the greater Cleveland/Akron area. Our dance family consists of all levels of dancers from the beginner to the professional. Choreographers are responsible for holding weekly 90 minute rehearsals with dancers who are cast in their piece at open auditions on 8/25/19, creating a short piece (less than 4 minutes) that will be performed at our Season 5 Showcase on 11/23/19. CDP provides space, a small costume budget, dancers, and the opportunity to network with people from all walks of the local dance community!
