After our World Premiere performance at CVLT in the fall of 2019, Stow Players is presenting the second full production of this show by Stow’s own playwright, Brandi Eaton. Matt is bringing his boyfriend home for Thanksgiving - the only trouble is that he’s not all the way out yet. Add in a wacky aunt, a hilarious grandma, an unwanted ex, and a sister with a secret of her own and this outlandish family will have you feeling right at home. First rehearsal will be Monday March 30th. www.CVLT.org The Woman - (20's - 30's) - English Governess The Man (20 - 30's) - Must seamlessly play the Narrator, The Uncle, Mrs. Grose (the housekeeper), and Miles (an 11 year old boy) Based on the provocative Henry James' 1898 novella, Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation gives this psychological thriller another turn of its own. A young governess journeys to a lonely English manor house to care for two recently orphaned children. But she is not their first governess. Her predecessor, Miss Jessel, drowned herself when she became pregnant by the sadistic valet, Peter Quint, who was himself found dead soon after, under mysterious circumstances. Now the new governess has begun to see the specters of Quint and Jessel haunting the children, and she must find a way to stop the fiends before it is too late. But are these ghosts real, or are they the product of her own fevered imagination? Filled with Suspense, horror and repressed sexuality, this piece is an actors dream!

Bay Village Community Theater will hold auditions for a staged reading of Annie Eliot's Victorian one-act comedy, "St. Valentine's Day." Auditions will be held Monday, January 20. 6-8 pm at St. Barnabas Church, 468 Bradley Road. Bay Village. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Performances are 2/15 at 2 pm and 2/16 at 6 pm. Characters: Elinor: Middle-aged woman, 30s-50sLetty - Her Niece, late teens to early thirties Synopsis:"St. Valentine's Day" is a light-hearted one-act about two high-society ladies, Elinor and her niece, Letty. After a confusing mixup with some valentines, Elinor believes her secret admirers to be pining after Letty's affections. Their confrontation comes to a head over tea, like any good Victorian comedy. Full of wit and charm similar to that of Oscar Wilede, this one-act will give you both laughs an a heartwarming ending.

Auditioning for Teens: From Community Theatre to Broadway Professional actors Nancy McNulty and Tim McGeever will give young actors, ages 12-18 insight on what it’s like to be a professional actor and give pointers on nailing their next audition. The workshop focuses on audition techniques and strategies for booking the role. Ample time will be included for students to ask questions, and for Nancy and Tim to talk to parents in the final part of the workshop, about ways to support their aspiring thespians.
