Please join us for… *WRP’s Winter 2020/2021 Class Session* We have four brand-new classes and workshops for you to try, all starting around late November/early December and ending in January 2021! Check out our catalogue for more information and how to register! “*Basics of Costume Rendering*” with Jasen Smith (Wednesday evenings 12/09 through 1/20 from 6pm – 7pm) (NO meeting 12/23) ($100) Dressing an actor and a character in a play both beautifully and appropriately is no easy task, but a necessary and rewarding one. In this workshop, you will touch upon the basics of human anatomy, clothing design, and character development of the theatrical costume. You do NOT have to be an artist or have drawing experience for this workshop. For students ages 12+; cost $100 per student. “*Time Travel*” with Victoria Kirgesner (Tuesday evenings 12/08 through 1/19 from 6pm – 7pm) (NO meeting 12/22) ($100) Join us for this virtual, improvisation-based experience where, each week, we will either travel backwards or forwards in time to create brand-new characters and stories. An adventure with endless possibilities! FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 17, 2020 MTC to Hold Virtual Auditions for A Killer Party the Musical! The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is proud to announce their ongoing virtual auditions for their next online production; the regional premiere of A Killer Party the Musical! Auditions will be accepted until midnight on November 27. Auditioners should record themselves singing a full contemporary musical theatre song of their choice, as well as a brief monologue, and email it to millennialtheatrecompany(a)gmail.com. Headshots and resumes are welcome and encouraged, but not required. Actors will receive a confirmation email after their audition has been received, along with a brief form to complete. If an audition is sent in and a confirmation email and form is not received, please resend your audition. A Killer Party the Musical will rehearse and perform remotely due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. There will be NO in-person meetings or rehearsals, so actors from any location may audition. Rehearsals will take place via Zoom beginning in early December. Video and audio recording will take place throughout the months of January and February. All rehearsals and recording sessions will be scheduled around the actor's availability. Actors wishing to audition may be asked to provide basic costume and prop elements for themselves, depending on their location. Actors ages 16+ may audition. All roles are open. A Killer Party the Musical tells the story of Varthur McArthur, the artistic director of a failing theater in Duluth, who invites his troupe of disgruntled actors and collaborators to the first read of an "immersive murder mystery dinner party," where no one knew that he would be the victim. Or did they? Enter the eager, determined, and untested Detective Case. After sequestering the guests into separate rooms (because, you know, social-distancing), she gets down to finding out whodunnit, uncovering secret affairs, life-long grudges, backstage drama, and a lot of musical theater song and dance. As Sebastian Weller prepares for his first virtual conference as vice president of a profitable tech company, he is joined early online by Jay Sommers, a senior officer of the company who, as it turns out, has a very specific and popular perspective on the Black Lives Matter movement. Equality Productions produces online theater and is expected to raise nearly $2000 in 2020 for charitable organizations in the US and Canada. Watch the Audition Announcement/Trailer here. <https://youtu.be/g81mrLcMIs0> The Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater will hold auditions for *Clue: Stay-At-Home Version, *a live-streaming production that will run February 5, 6, 12, & 13, 2021. *Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie* which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, *Clue* is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by the butler Wadsworth, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. The characters and the audience must try to figure out who, where, and with what. “With the uncertainty of our ability to provide a live, in-person, we felt it necessary to plan something exciting to start our 2021 season,” says Tim Anderson, Education Director for the Spotlights and the director for this production. “This show is based on a movie with sort of a cult following among theater types. Our production will still have a very theatrical feel, including full costumes, a scale model of a set, and sound effects.” The Spotlights produced a successful run of a virtual production of *The Secret Life of Girls *in October. Auditions for *Clue *will be held virtually on *Sunday, December 6, from 2:00 – 4:00PM* and *Monday, December 7, from 7:00 PM to 9:00PM*. I’m currently seeking a regular pianist that would be willing to pick up some gigs (virtual or safe live performances), videos for auditions/social media promo and at least one rehearsal a week just to stay prepared. I’m really seeking a partnership from someone who’s willing to play together indefinitely, working on a bunch of covers from various genres and perhaps some enhancements with keys on my original acoustic songs as well.
