Imaginos Productions LLC is seeking an actress to portray the Snow Queen at children’s birthday parties and events. Preferably a height of 5’6” or taller. Imaginos employs, and then trains and collaborates with working actors and entertainers to bring costumed characters, puppets, and immersive theatre experiences to life at private parties, big events, and various other shows. Our office is located in Berea and we service customers all around the Northeast Ohio area. All work is PAID at hourly rates. Auditions can be scheduled around your own availability. Arrive ready to move. Auditions will consist of improv exercises and singing- please come prepared with 16 bars of a Disney song. All singing will be done a cappella. In observance of the 50th anniversary of the day that changed the nation, Kent State University at Stark will present *May 4th Voices – Kent State, 1970* by David Hassler. This dramatic and moving account uses the words and testimonies of actual eyewitnesses to transport us back to the hill where it all happened. Non-union auditions will be held in the Fine Arts Building on the Stark campus - 6000 Frank Ave. NW, N. Canton at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, February 25th and Wednesday, February 26th. Monologues are welcome but there will be reading of sides from the script. There are plenty of roles, so actors of all age ranges and types are needed. On behalf of the Oberlin Dance Intensive staff, it is my pleasure to invite your students to attend Oberlin Dance Intensive this summer, July 12-18. Now in its seventh year of programming, ODI offers students ages 13-17 the opportunity to dance with the professional dance artists of Neos Dance Theatre as well as Oberlin College’s distinguished faculty. Our talented and caring teachers, excellent dance and campus facilities, and highly engaged staff members are dedicated to providing positive and productive experiences for every student. Young dancers at all levels will benefit in many ways from the Oberlin Dance Intensive: - Training with Oberlin’s outstanding dance faculty, many of whom specialize in unique dance styles from around the world: Ballet, Contemporary, Samba, Jazz, Improvisation, Flamenco and West African Dance. - Neos dancers, some of the region’s most acclaimed performing artists, provide invaluable professional perspectives during technique classes and share insights about the creative process. Beyond dance training, participants experience an exciting taste of college life on Oberlin’s beautiful campus. They will also enjoy a charming, small-town experience: - Students can choose to stay in Oberlin’s well-supervised and safe residence halls. EVENT: Submissions Request for Dover Players 10 Minute Play Experience 2020 Dover Players is accepting submissions for its "10 Minute Play Experience" to be held July 17-19, 2020 at the North Olmsted United Methodist Church (NOUMC) in North Olmsted, Ohio. A cash prize (percentage of admissions receipts) will be awarded to the winning playwright for the Best Play based on audience vote. A judging panel will vote on the following categories and certificates will be awarded to the Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Creative Writing (playwright award). Rules: Deadline for submission, Friday, April 10, 2020 Plays must be submitted in pdf form by email to lslittle(a)wideopenwest.com. Note: Dover Players' plays are performed in a church sanctuary (no stage curtain), therefore space is limited. We do provide side curtains for actor and actress entries/exits to and from the stage. Keep this in mind when submitting your play. (A diagram of the performance space is available upon request.) Plays must: Be G or PG rated Be written by and all rights owned by the playwright submitting the play Be produced without royalties, per agreement by the playwright Require no more than 5 actors (doubling of roles permitted) Have minimal props, setting and sound/lights (due to space limitations) Be able to be performed in approximately 10 minutes Be limited to 1-3 play submissions per playwright Plays that were not performed during Dover Players 10 Minute Play Experience in 2019, may be resubmitted. If your play is selected and you do not live locally, the play will be directed by one of Dover Players' directors and cast through the Dover Players' audition process. If your play is selected and you do live locally, you may choose to direct and cast it yourself, OR you may have Dover Players direct it, cast it, or both. Criteria for selection: Plays will be selected based on quality, uniqueness, message, entertainment value and the ability to be performed in the theater space.
