CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM’SMAY/JUNE PRODUCTION ANGRY FAGS POSTPONED Due to the current health crisis, ourproduction of Angry Fags by Topher Payne, the run of which was scheduledfor May 15-June 6, has been indefinitely postponed. While this is adisappointing turn of events, the health and safety of our patrons, artists and staff is, of course, of prime concern in the current circumstances. If you have purchased tickets for this production,we ask that you please consider donating the cost of your tickets toconvergence-continuum. Should you wish to receive a refund foryour purchase, we will work with you to have all ticketing fees refunded. Season subscribers can turn your ticketsinto a donation, or we can apply these tickets as vouchers for future productions. Due to the cancellation of twoproductions this season, convergence-continuum has had to adjust ouroperational reality for our current season. These cancellations will have afinancial impact on our organization for the years to come. SOS for elastic!

Hi all, My name is Laura Hall and I'm on a desperate hunt for elastic donations. I'm volunteering full-time right now with the 3D printing company Makergear located in Beachwood, OH, and they are in full production mode for face shields for medical professionals. The supply chain is really overloaded and we are having a hard time procuring elastic (for the back of the face shield). If you have any elastic in your costume shops you would be willing to donate ASAP, we would be so incredibly grateful. Specifically, we are REALLY in need of elastic with widths of 1/8" and 1/4", but we also have a need for 1/2" and above as well. On a personal note, I'm a professional actor myself (based out of NYC), so my heart is with you all in this absolutely insane time. I'm calling on our people for help! The emails and texts from doctors and nurses around the country who don't have the protection they need is frustrating and awful. Please holler if you have anything to donate. We are still seeking Skit and Scene Submissions, so that, pending the Coronova Virus crisis, we may still be able to move ahead with our inspirational “Miracles, Magic and Makeovers” Performance Project. If we are not able to proceed in the near future, submissions will still be selected and performed as soon as circumstances permit. Thanks . . . Sue Johnson. Seeking Skit and Scene Writers for Inspirational “Miracles, Magic and Makeovers” Performance Project. Submissions Deadline: Friday, May 8. (Please share with your directors, students, casts, social media.) Wake Up and Live’s Actors’ Studio (WUAL) is launching its “Miracles, Magic and Makeovers” project and inviting skit, scene, playwrights and creative writers to submit 12 - 15-minute inspirational scenarios to be performed on Cleveland area stages and on “Wake Up and Live With the Arts.” Cuyahoga Arts and Culture has awarded WUAL a grant for our “Miracles, Magic and Makeovers to Live Your Personal and Career Life on a Higher Level' project. The grant will enable WUAL to perform original scenes and skits in live stage events and on “Wake Up And Live With the Arts.” Stories the actors tell will portray Universal principles, such as visualization, meditation and affirmations individuals can practice to change their minds and behaviors to eliminate limiting beliefs and self-sabotage and create transformational life changes.. “Miracles, Magic and Makeovers" Skit and Scene Submissions should: Address the Concept: Turn Your Life and Career into One of Joy, Health, Wealth and Happiness! 1. THE MOVEMENT PROJECT SUMMER INTENSIVE 2020PRE-PROFESSIONAL (12 - 18 YRS)VIDEO AUDITION SUBMISSION OPEN NOW! This one week intensive is geared for serious-minded dancers interested in furthering themselves as creative artists and who wish to deepen and grow their technical and performance knowledge. This intensive provides a rigorous daily schedule in professional training, creative practice and rehearsals taught by TMP artistic directors, company members, as well as notable guest artists in the dance community. The program will focus on modern dance technique, contemporary, ballet, improvisation, composition, injury prevention and somatic practices. In addition to movement courses, the program includes courses designed to prepare young artists for a career in dance, such as, resume building, dance on film and marketing. As part of our marketing course, each artist will receive dance action shots for their portfolio. Dancers who participate in the summer intensive are also eligible to become a TMP community ambassador for the 2020-2021 season. CLEVELAND DANCE FEST 2020APPLICATIONS ARE LIVE! In these unprecedented times, the dance community including pre-professional, collegiate & professional dancers, teachers & choreographers have all been impacted in a way that many have never experienced in their lifetimes. With this in mind we are grateful to announce The Movement Project's Cleveland Dance Fest <http://www.themovementproject.org/cdf2020-app> is set to return for its 5th season, November 6th & 7th, 2020 at the beautiful Pilgrim Church in Tremont! The 2-day festival will feature master classes by CDF artists and performances featuring Cleveland dance artists, visiting artists and pre-professional artists. CDF 2020 will be taking applications for performance pieces and dance films starting April 1st, 2020. CDF has four applications this year for artists to apply. Show 1 & Show 2 - open to professional artists (independent artists & dance companies) Emerging Works Concert - open to emerging artists (college artists & works in progress) Youth Showcase - open to pre-professional youth dance groups ages 12-18 years old Dance on Film (NEW THIS YEAR!) - open to all artists over 18!
