However, we can also do extensive research and interviews with people on which to build a documentary theater piece about a dynamic individual or a particular group or people, say veterans or victims of domestic violence. We have the option to create characters based on those interviewees or by using the subject’s exact words from an interview transcript in a verbatim piece. In this workshop, we’ll discuss the techniques necessary to research a topic and get comprehensive interviews from which to draw material or language for the docudrama. Each student will develop a shorter piece that can stand on its own or be developed into a one-act or full-length play. She directed local high school plays / musicals, and has been the Youth Director at OTHT for many years, as well. WHITE by James Ijames opens October 15th at convergence-continuum Gus is an artist. Vanessa is an actress. Gus wants to be presented in a major exhibition for artists of color, so he hires Vanessa to perform as Balkonaé Townsend, a brash and political artist that will fit the museum’s desire for “new voices.” Everything is great, until Balkonaé takes over and Gus has to deal with the mess he’s made. This plays spins out of control as it explores issues of race, gender, sexuality, and art. Starring: Anthony Covatta, Amanda Rowe, Lifan Deng, and Sarah Kunchik. Audition Announcement for Theatre Agápe‘s All Together Now!

Theatre Agápe is thrilled to announce an audition call for our inaugural production, All Together Now!, a musical revue! After months of laying the groundwork to build a socially conscious and sustainable nonprofit, we are ready to mount our first onstage production. In short, we are here. Theatre Agápe is an arts organization committed to inclusion and accessibility. This will be a hybrid production performed to an in-person audience as well as streamed. If you are unable to perform in person, we will accommodate filming your contributions and projecting your portion into the live performances. This applies to children under the age of 12 as well. Audition Information: Please submit a video audition to theatre.agape21(a)gmail.com. Audition should be 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Videos are due no later than Sunday, October 17th. Rehearsal Information: The bulk of in-person rehearsals will take place between Sunday, October 31st and Thursday, November 11th. A few rehearsals may be held prior to those dates, and they will be conducted over Zoom. And while Preston Fox (Eric Unhold), Thomas' husband, has his real estate license to fall back on, the other employees would be out on the street if the loan officer from First National Bank, Mark Andrews (James McPeak), follows through and forecloses on the company. Fingers are pointed, tempers flare, and someone ends up dead. Now it's up to you to unravel the mystery and discover the identity of the killer. Living Pictures at CPT cleveland PUBLIC theatre Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy After-School In-Person Course Living Pictures – SENIORS For youth ages 11-14 years old 6-week course on site at CPT November 2 , 2021 – December 9, 2021 Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30pm-6:00pm FREE Application Deadline: Monday, October 25, 2021 WHO CAN Academy programming is open to the public, and non-Cleveland residents are welcome to apply, however Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) has a priority to engage Cleveland residents. WHAT Join us for Living Pictures, an in-person after-school program that provides theatre training from an imaginative perspective. Youth will build upon basic theatre training by completing individual assignments and group work that will bring imagined worlds to life with a live showcase for family and friends on the final day.
