Cleveland Dance Project is seeking choreographers who want to work with our all level adult family to create a short work for our season 9 showcase! Choreographers will hold weekly 90 minute rehearsals (arranged and paid for by CDP) culminating in two shows on May 7. We are especially seeking choreographers willing to work with all levels of dancers, in any and all styles of dance. Choreographers will receive professional video footage of their work and feedback & assistance as needed throughout the season. Applications are due Dec 31. There is a $35 non-refundable application fee. CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM Additional Auditions for 2022 NEOMFA PLAYWRIGHTS FESTIVAL Saturday, December 11th 2021, 12PM Auditions to be held at the theatre located at 2438 Scranton Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44113 The Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) is a unique graduate program that offers a terminal degree in Creative Writing. Each year, convergence-continuum hosts a 2-weekend festival featuring works by students of the program. Each show is given a full production for the playwright to experience their work on stage. Rehearsals will start the second week of January. Those who have participated in the past can testify that the Festival is an intensive, busy and thoroughly fun experience! Shows can range from 10-minute shorts to full length. This season will feature 5 works: Two full-length plays and three 10 minute/one act plays. In all, the five plays have at least 24 roles: from younger to older actors, of all genders, races and ethnicities. Character Breakdowns: Are we there yet? Sarah - 18 into college Josh - Teen (Driving Temps) Dan - Dad Beth - Mom The Confession CJ - 18, young man John - 50ish Detective Bela and the Bunnies Claire - 30-40s Woman Allen - 30-40s Man Devon - 20s Man Bela - Woman Nothings Magic Frankie - 20-30s woman (Already Cast) Girl - 16ish teenager; away from home Drew - Frankie’s roommate & friend, has a troubled relationship with his Mom Josephine - Drew‘s Mother Teenager Frankie - Teenager 2 - Theo - Sibling to Frankie Cold and Broken Hallelujah Julie - 40s Woman Karen - 60s Woman Cheepers - Bird (Already Cast) Megan - 20s Woman Pastor David - 30-40s Man Auditions will be Saturday, December 11th at 12pm AUDITIONS START AT NOON Please arrive early to fill out an audition form and with knowledge of your conflicts. Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts, but the auditions will be general Festival auditions, not for specific plays. All four directors will be present. It is possible that you could be cast in a play that you did not read from during auditions. It is also could be possible that you may be cast in two plays, e.g. a full-length + a 10-minute play, or two 10-minute plays. Performance dates are: Weekend 1 February 10th – 12th Weekend 2 February 17th – 19th VACCINATION INFO: In order to be considered for casting, all individuals auditioning are required to provide proof of vaccination at the time of audition. All cast and crew are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to participate in this festival. AUDITION NOTICE Seeking male actor, early 20s, any race/ethnicity, for final open role in premiere production of new play PLAYWRIGHTS LOCAL www.playwrightslocal.org Millwood Outpost Written by Tom Hayes Directed by Rachel Zake Production Info: Rehearsals: February 12 - March 17, 2022 Performances: March 18 - April 3, 2022 Location: Creative Space at Waterloo Arts, 397 East 156th Street, Cleveland, OH 44110 Playwrights Local is casting for the premiere production of Millwood Outpost, a new play by Cleveland-based author Tom Hayes. In this drama, six highway workers are forced by stormy weather to share one room in an abandoned Department of Transportation outpost. Over the course of several hours, the men must confront their own fears, prejudices, and beliefs, and those of each other, while elemental forces outside threaten them all. This production will be directed by Rachel Zake, with rehearsals beginning on February 12, 2022 and performances ending on April 3, 2022.
