Elf The Musical<https://www.beckcenter.org/shows/elf>, book was adapted by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan with lyrics by Chad Beguelin and music by Matthew Sklar. Based on the New Line Cinema film by David Berenbaum, this stage production is directed by Scott Spence, with musical direction by Larry Goodpaster, and choreography by Martín Céspedes. The show runs December 3, 2021 - January 2, 2022, in the Senney Theater in Lakewood, Ohio. Additional performances added on Wednesdays Dec. 22nd/29th, Thursdays, Dec. 16th/23rd/Dec 30th, and double performances, (matinee and evenings, 2:30PM/7:30PM) on December 11th and December 18th, 2021. Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious big-elf-living-in-a-small world comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity in a holiday bedazzled New York City. Featuring songs written by the creator of Disney's Aladdin on Broadway and a book by the writer of Annie, The Producers, and Hairspray this feels and sounds like a sweet holiday treat for all ages. Beck Center Youth Theater Explores Norse Mythology in New Play

Odin, Loki, Thor and other "marvel"-ous characters tell their origin stories through humor, battles, and a little bit of Ragnarok and Roll. Featuring Beck Center's pre-teen actors, these myths will have patrons laughing all the way to the fjord. Why is Thor's hammer Mjolnir so heavy? Why is Freyja's chariot led by cats? What's up with all these silent j's? These Viking and Valkyrie vignettes will be the most fun anyone can have during an apocalypse. Rachel Spence says "I am honored and delighted to share The Real Valkyries of Valhalla with audiences. These 26 preteen actors are amazing. In this one-act comedy, we portray many of the Norse Mythology legends and stories with some actors playing multiple roles. We keep the myths intact but give them a fun twist. Many people know Loki, Thor and Odin for the Marvel movies but our play is based on ancient myths. There are songs, dances and even a hilarious magic act. While the characters include giants, dwarves, animals and gods, these myths tell stories about the human condition from the moment of creation to the end of the world. Stow Players Auditions for Into the Breeches!

AUDITIONS for Into the Breeches! by George Brandt and directed by Pat Robertell-Hudson will be held on Saturday January 8th from 1PM to 4PM and Sunday January 9th from 7PM to 9PM at the Heritage Barn in Silver Springs Park in Stow, Ohio. Auditions will be open call and consist of reading from script. Please bring your resume if you have one and a list of conflicts. Rehearsals will begin the week of January 11. Performances will be held March 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, and 19. Cast is 6 females and 2 men of varying ages. Synopsis: Oberon Play House’s director and leading men are off at war. Determined to press on, the director’s wife sets out to produce an all-female version of Shakespeare’s Henriad (Henry IV and Henry V), assembling an increasingly unexpected team united in desire, if not actual theatre experience. The women pull on their breeches and move from the sidelines to centerstage. Set during World War II, these women show a spirit of collaboration, dauntless enthusiasm, and a belief in the power of art to heal the world. They manage to keep the home fires, and the footlights, burning in this warm and hilarious comedy.
