UA THEATRE PRESENTS “CLUE” ONSTAGE Stage Adaptation Streaming LIVE from The University of Akron Akron, OH – The University of Akron (UA) Theatre Program continues its 2020-2021 season with the Spring MainStage Virtual Production, “Clue” written by Sandy Rustin with additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price. Adapted from the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn for the Paramount Pictures Motion Picture based on the classic Hasbro board game Clue, the virtual performance will be directed by guest artist and UA Associate Lecturer in Theatre Arts, Dane CT Leasure (SDC). The play’s ensemble is made up of both community members and students from UA as well as other schools who study a variety of disciplines. The cast includes Lysander Mills, Baleigh Lynn, Tia Jones, Rebecca Neff, Jackie Manno, Noah Lee, Jared Vullo, Jacob Marinak, Arianna Allen, Emily Kay McNeely, and Owen Casino. Online showings for “Clue” will stream LIVE on Broadway On Demand March 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 at 7:30 P.M. and March 7 at 2:30 P.M. Six colorful guests assemble for a dinner with murder and blackmail on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. The race to find the killer is on as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunnit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out… WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT! The Theatre Arts Program at The University of Akron equips undergraduate and graduate students with a broad knowledge of theatre arts and fundamental practical skills in order to prepare them to address the emerging issues and challenges of the theatre profession in a diverse and vibrant society. The longer their child is missing, the more they break down. The more the detectives break down. & the further & further away the missing child seems. Like last year your child will choose what area of the film they wish to work in (i.e. writing, acting, crew, editing, etc.) and will only be in the camp on those days. This coming Thursday, 25th Feb, Scottish jazz vocalist, Carol Leslie, will perform with her trio at the Bop Stop@The Music Settlement, 7pm - 8.15pm, via a livestream event on Facebook. This is a FREE event, but of course donations are always welcomed to support this non-profit’s mission to provide music therapy for children, and to support musicians during the Pandemic. It can take a minute or two for the video to appear once you click - just enough time to pour a sip or two to sit back and relax, as you anticipate the weekend! Jazz, contemporary, pop, there’ll be something for everyone in Carol’s repertoire. Many of you have seen Carol perform at the Bop Stop, the legendary Night Town restaurant, or the Music Box, and she is sure to please accompanied by Ed Ridley on keys, Jeffrey Slater on bass, and Ricky Exton on drums - all three are educators, and part of the mainstay of the local jazz scene in NE Ohio.
