Synopsis On a June day in 1960, a still-grieving brother and sister made a horrifying discovery. Just days after their brother's burial, someone had exhumed his body and moved it, with no forwarding address. Exactly 50 years later, two adult strangers with the same last name run into each other at the family plot. They will attempt to sort out what might have gone wrong while everybody was above ground. And whether this brand of mishegas is hereditary. >From the Playwright “As much of Family Markers actually happened, this piece was as much an exorcism as a creative exercise. As such, it stayed in a drawer for several years. But in 2015, I saw a call for plays about ‘Family Mythology’ for a contest in Connecticut. Months later, *Family Markers* had its first production at the Warner Theater there. DCNEO is a nonprofit organization that implements a 10 week – 20 session social development for 5th and 8th grade students as part of the required academic school day program (not an optional or elective program held after-school). Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) opens its 11th season of Jazz under the Stars with Oberlin-based musician Daniel Spearman and his band SoundEVR on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 7 pm in Medina’s Uptown Park. The ensemble will perform a mix of original compositions written by Daniel Spearman, along with songs from the American Songbook, arranged to fit the high-energy style of the band. The band draws heavily from the Hard Bop style of Jazz from the 1960s, led by artists such as Art Blakey and Lee Morgan. SoundEVR will combine those sounds with dance music of the 1980s to create a sonic experience unique to this band. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and picnics to enjoy this free concert.
