CLEVELAND PLAY HOUSE CASTING LOCAL ACTORS FOR NEW HOLIDAY MUSICAL LIGHT IT UP! Cleveland Play House (CPH) is casting local actors for the 2021 world premiere production of Light It Up!, directed by Christopher Windom. Our casting director for this production will be Judith Bowman. Both AEA and non-AEA actors will be considered for this production, which will be on a LORT/AEA Contract (Category B). Auditions are by video submission only, with in-person callbacks scheduled for Friday, September 17. "A favorite memory of mine during the filming was getting hit in the head with a (fake) glass bottle in one scene" lead actor Jerry Sur, playing Detective Mendoza, recounting his experience, "and (prior to) ensuring that my fellow lead actor grabbed the correct fake one!" Lead actress, Pauline Nowakowski, whom is 100% Mexican, plays Maria Consuela, had a great experience on set, "It was a great experience every time I was on set. City Ballet of Cleveland is holding its annual Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker audition on Sunday, September 19th from 12:30 pm-4:00 pm. The audition is open to all area ballet dancers ages 7 and older with at least one year of ballet experience. Dancers auditioning for pointe roles, including Act I Snow and Act II Waltz of the Flowers, should wear their pointe shoes to audition. Potential dancers do not need to be students at Cleveland City Dance; however, students must be enrolled in class at their current studio or Cleveland City Dance during the during the rehearsal process. The 2021 Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker performances are scheduled for December 18th at 7:00 pm and December 19th at 2:00 pm at the Breen Center for the Performing Arts.
